Soapy Faith, started a bit unconventional. It was founded by my two older sisters Krystal and Brittney. Krystal is my biological sister and Brittney is actually her (and my) sister-in-law, Krystal was formerly married to Brittney’s brother. To make a long story short, Krystal decided to end her marriage of 18 years, after serious marital issues, surviving breast cancer and depression. Despite the issues between Brittney’s brother and Krystal, they had developed a true sister relationship and continued to grow their relationship as a family and Brittney always supported everything Krystal went through after her marriage. After a failed relationship, Krystal knew she needed something to keep her going, but God told her she wasn’t going to do it on her own, so she and Brittney connected to create Soapy Faith. It came at a perfect time for both of them, because Brittney had just recently divorced as well and was dealing with family issues at the time too, they created Soapy Faith as a way to heal themselves, while simultaneously healing people through healthy skincare products, that encouraged its users to have faith and keep going. What most people don’t know is before Soapy Faith, over 10 years ago, Krystal and Brittney ran another bath and body company, with over 15 different products, that they ultimately dissolved, due to just simply not knowing how to run a business properly. So, when the idea of Soapy Faith came about, my sisters wanted to make sure they focused on perfecting one thing first and building a business of that; and what better way than something everyone needs… Soap!

I have always spoken my mind. It was crazy because my mom told me that
the doctors said I would be a Dorf who wouldn& #39;t talk when I was born, considering
I was only 13inch and weighed in under 5lbs; my mom believed the report. I was
told that my grandmother stepped in and spoke a different word over my life. On
assignment by the Lord, Amanda Bell Dennis said I would not be a Dorf, and I
would not only speak, but The Lord would also use me to communicate for those
who couldn& #39;t speak for themselves. Boy, was she right! With this being said, who
would ever think that I would struggle with weight issues and be unable to talk
about it?
My relationship with food didn& #39;t begin with my love of cooking. I started
cooking because of my mother& #39;s inability to work, cook and deal with her past
demons of mental and physical abuse endured by my father. After dealing with
over ten years of abuse, my mom took me and ran from my father. My mom was
a survivor. She created a life for us by working two jobs. She would spend her
time off sleeping and her weekends preparing for the next week. Although we
had food in the house, my mom had little to no energy to prepare solid meals. I
came from a long line of cooks (both sides of my family), so the art of cooking is in

my DNA. I began cooking so my mom would have a nice meal after working so
hard and soak up the alcohol that she consumed to drown her abusive flashbacks.
This was the birth of me becoming a solution-focused therapist and learning the
power that food has on a person& #39;s emotions. The crazy part was, I was only ten
when I began my unhealthy relationship with using food to cover up emotional
issues. This relationship would follow me throughout my life. I had no idea forty
years later; The Lord would show me how to develop a voice talking about my
food journey and speaking to and for those who may not understand the power
of food.
Amanda was right; I began speaking at 10mos. And I have been talking ever
since. As a minister, I use my voice to speak life into those who may need
encouragement in their walk with salvation. As a wife, I try and speak life and love
over my husband; as a mother, I speak love, encouragement, and correction, and
as a therapist, I am still discovering my voice. For now, I intend to talk about the
emotional, physical, and spiritual healing food can have on one& #39;s life.
After a failed bariatric surgery and countless weight-loss diets and pills, I
have finally decided to deal with the heart of the matter. Through gaining my
Master& #39;s as an MFT, I learned that food wasn& #39;t the issue. It was the way I used
food to cover the deep feeling of abandonment. I now use food as it has been
intended. A source to live; I no longer want to live to eat; I now want to eat to
