ANALYSIS PARALYSIS
Many paralyzed and crippled people were cured. – Acts 8:7
Maria had always wanted to try working abroad. The thought of meeting and working with people from diverse backgrounds excited her. Aside from the financial benefits, she knew that she would improve her craft and be updated with recent developments in her field if she would work internationally. But whenever she would think of taking the first step, thoughts of loneliness and anxiety would creep in: Will I survive living in a place without the support of family and friends? What if my workmates won’t like me? What if my future boss is unkind?
Does this story sound familiar? Talk about analysis paralysis. Maybe at one point in our lives, we were paralyzed by fear or anxiety. We were afraid of the consequences of our decision. We were unable to act on our dreams. We have 100 reasons to go for it, but we also think of 100 reasons not to push through.
Stop overthinking. Pray to God. Surrender your plans. Be open and attentive to His grace. When God asks us to step out of our comfort zone, be assured that He is holding our hand every step of the way. Lala Dela Cruz (bella.delacruz@gmail.com)
Reflect: What is the Lord asking you to do? Where does He want you to go?
Lord, remove my fear. Help me to live my life to the fullest as I step out of my comfort zone. Hold my hand and never let me go. Amen.
St. Catherine of Siena, virgin and Doctor of the Church, pray for us.
