Last month, I hosted our first annual Warrior Ready Games to test our fitness, endurance, and marksmanship. It was a really fun day with an awesome group of friends! This video is of me on Round 2 of the competition. It started with a 500-yard run followed by a 150lb farmer carry, then shooting the pistol followed by shooting the rifle at close range utilizing height over bore to hit a small target while transitioning betwixt strong and weak side, followed by shooting the pistol again, ending with a 200lb sled drag to the 80-yard hostage shot. I was recently invited to teach a Stop the Bleed class with my old fire department. In addition to the American College of Surgeons curriculum, we also covered introductory training in Mass Casualty, Triage, Rescue Taskforce, and Patient Movement. I started out my fire career in that room 17 years ago; it was fun to be back! Thanks for the invitation, Jefferson City VFD, and I hope you're able to implement these skills to save lives! Keep pushing your training!
