I was sent to the Ordway Fire recently to assist as a DIVS on night shift. We spent the night running a burnout, catching the fire at 185 acres with all lines holding through a strong cold front on the following day. The Incident Commander watched helpfully from his perch of authority.

In addition to first aid classes, we teach tactical medical classes for entry-level learning and more advanced training for medical professionals to brush up on their triage and Rescue Taskforce skills. These classes are also ideal for career and volunteer security forces as well as anyone who lives prepared for the unknown. At Frontline Response, we believe that stopping the killing is just the beginning: our mission is to stop the dying.

Night ops on the Ordway Fire outside Craig, MT last week. We pulled an all night burnout operation to secure the line before the following day’s cold front passage; all lines held.

Night burn ops on the Ordway Fire north of Helena. All accessible fire lines were secured overnight. We also found lawn chairs in the woods.

Practicing on the Forceable Entry training prop as part of North Jefferson County’s yearly Fire Academy. We have a good group of new firefighters learning basic tasks and tactics with a lot of returning students who are honing their Crew Lead skills.

Intermediate Civilian Responder builds on the skills practiced in Basic Civilian Responder, utilizing the SMARCH algorithm. We focus on assessing and treating the ARC portion of SMARCH.
