The PeerMed and Student Surgical Society Of Plovdiv Peer Teaching series is here, and you’re all invited to get involved!
Need some motovation to study?
Want to try your hand at teaching?
Fancy acting as a patient/examiner in our in-person OSCEs, or creating a case for an online PBL session?
Nows your chance to join our little study community! And earn some bonus teaching points for the CV;)

30 minute high yield interactive teaching sessions will be delivered online every weekday by your fellow students. (There may even be some longer in-person teaching sessions, it really depends on what you guys want!)
The first 3 weeks will be medically themed, the last 3 weeks surgically themed.
After each 3 week block, you will get the chance to apply the theory in an in-person OSCE!

_Do you want your CV to stand out in junior dr interviews? Do you want to impress your interviewers with your healthcare knowledge?_

PeerMedics are hosting their first national essay competition in Bulgaria! The topics are some of the most commonly asked questions at interview, its an excellent way to show off your knowledge of ethical dilemmas that are of interest right now.

*Requirements:*
• All medical students in BG - can enter either as an individual or a small team (maximum 3 people)
• Choose 1 topic - either from the clinical or pre-clinical section
• Max. 1 essay entry per individual/team
• Word count 500-750 words
• Submitted in English and must be your original work - plagiarized work will not be accepted

*Pre-clinical*
- Impact of mental health and COVID-19
- Herd immunity and COVID-19
- Future treatment for antibiotic resistance

*Clinical*
- Impact of the Francis Reports on healthcare
- Charlie Gard case - ethical dilemmas surrounding the case; Should experimental treatment be used for rare diseases?
- Medical culture in relation to the Dr Bawa Garba case

*Prizes:*
⭐ Gold, Silver and Bronze Certificates of Recognition
• Winners will be announced in January 2022

INTRODUCING BRUSH UP 🧹

Starting this Saturday at 2pm - MS Teams!

Its no secret Covid has caused difficulties for medical students. This is especially the case when it comes to practical skills in which patient contact is needed. With the looming destination of graduation and FY1 life, its normal to be worried about not meeting certain FY1 competencies. However, this doesn’t mean we should give up... so let us help you!

Brush Up is working with PeerMed to deliver a series on FY1 competencies, designed to tackle the essentials!

Including: The basic elements of clerking, Key clinical skills and Confirming a death!
