Energy flows where focus goes...
One of the biggest shifts in my life came when I decided to drastically change the way I was thinking.
I used to think the world was against me. Questioning why I had to suffer with depression for over 20 years, why I had a spine of an 80 year old when I was 20, why I didn't have close girlfriends, why I never fit in, why I could never be successful or follow through, and why I was so sick with zero explanation from any doctor.
My body was on constant alert for any threat coming its way. Emails, text messages, phone calls all became threats. I was defensive and guarded. Constantly arguing and fighting with the people I cared about.
Until I decided this was no way to live. I was done.
Before I went to bed, I started to write down 2 things I was proud of or grateful for that happened that day.
When I woke up, before getting out of bed, I visualized how amazing my day was going to be. Thinking about how I wanted the day to go, how I wanted to feel, and the 2 big things I wanted to accomplish.
I know it sounds cliché, but this very simple practice CHANGED MY LIFE.
Now I was LOOKING for things to be grateful for. I was forecasting how I wanted my day to go, and it usually did. If anything came up that caused stress, I didn’t allow it to change my mood.
Can you imagine how different the world would be if everyone did this? It's free and no matter how things are going, there is ALWAYS something to be grateful for.
This morning, taking our puppy for a walk, I noticed the beauty in the sunrise, the peace in watching these birds chirp and play. Life IS good 💜✨️
