Oldies but Goldies 👌🏼 A great allround stretching programme whether you’re in rehabilitation or actively working on your mobility and flexibility
Moving in to the chilly winter months, mobility is more important than ever to keep our joints warm and muscles supple
1. LUMBAR ROTATION
- Lower back spinal release. Use a block to support your knee if necessary. 6 reps, 10s holds
2. FIGURE 4
- Gluteal stretch. Use a band or towel to hold your leg if necessary. Avoid straining your neck here. 6 reps, 30s holds
3. CAT/COW
- Spinal mobility. 20 rounds
4. TALL LUNGE
- Hip flexor stretch. Keep the torso tall and tuck the tailbone under as you move forwards. 6 reps, 30s holds
5. LOW LUNGE
- Hip flexor and quad stretch. You’re aiming to feel the stretch through the front of the back leg. Use a block or stack of books under your hands to rest on if necessary. 6 reps, 10s holds
