This Wednesday, January 29, 2025 saw the start of training for the second cohort of women members of the groups monitored by JLC, in partnership with CARE International Burundi, in its TUBAKARORERO program aimed at training women in particular in empowerment and knowledge of sexual and reproductive health. The first day was devoted to making contact, identifying recurring problems in the young women's respective groups, and designing a training plan tailored to their specific needs, with the help of the day's trainer.

We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt congratulations to one of our founding members, Dr. Elvis BUGUSU, on his recent graduation from Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College () where he earned his Master's in Medicine (MMed) with a specialization in Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Dr. BUGUSU's dedication and hard work throughout his journey have equipped him with valuable skills and knowledge that will greatly enhance his ability to serve our community. His unwavering commitment to caring for the underserved and vulnerable populations reflects the core values of JLC.

This Friday, October 25, 2024, Jars Of Love Community was able to share an awareness session on with Amazi Water staff members. Dr. Jessica and Dr. Gina were able to evoke the various myths and preconceived ideas about the risk factors and means of prevention of said cancer, allowing participants to quench their curiosity and learn a little more about this silent killer.

As we close the first week of the new school year, let's celebrate together the milestones achieved with our partners, from organizations to individuals.

This Thursday, September 12, 2024, women from the “Legacy Women” organization supported 40 children from the communities followed by Jars Of Love Community, offering them school kits to facilitate their return to school while reducing the expenses of these beneficiary families.

Thanks to this gesture, a total of 268 children have benefited from school kits, giving them the tools they need to get their school year off to a flying start. We would like to thank each and every person/organization for their contribution to this milestone, and would like to ask anyone with an open heart to help other children to approach us in order to offer a bright future to these young people.

Jars Of Love Community (JLC) had the pleasure of participating in the ICMDA Regional Congress for Francophone Africa, held in Bujumbura from September 4 to 7, 2024 at the King's Conference Center. We would like to express our deep gratitude to all the volunteers of JLC who, with open-mindedness and dedication, represented our organization at the said congress, with the warm welcome and cordiality characteristic of Burundian culture. Thanks to their commitment and energy, JLC was able to present its work to participants from all over French-speaking Africa and beyond. We would also like to thank the many delegates who took the time to visit our stand and showed genuine interest in our activities and projects.

On Sunday, September 1st, we had another heartwarming event as we distributed school kits to 57 children in our community, with the generous support of our partner, Actions for Women's Rights (.bi) . Each child received essential supplies to start the school year strong.

Over the course of the weekend, this initiative went beyond donating school kits to give each of the 228 beneficiary children the tools they need to succeed, and ease the burden on their families. We thank all our partners for helping us make a difference, one kit at a time.

🎉 A New Milestone Achieved!🎉

This first Monday of September, we’re excited to share the success of our inaugural school kit distribution for primary school children in the JLC-supported communities, this Saturday, August 31st. With the invaluable partnership of organizations such as Ubuntu Solidarity, Unis pour Aider, Impara Group and Abana Bacu, we provided 171 children with essential school kits, including notebooks, pens, and a ruler.

This initiative not only promotes education but also helps families reduce the financial burden of schooling while bringing the community together. We’ve encouraged the children to excel this academic year, ensuring continued support in the future.

More than 4,556 people were received in the various services made available to them in this unprecedented edition, which was marked by enriching exchanges and unforgettable moments.
