CHOLERA

Cholera is a bacterial disease that is usually spread through contaminated water, cholera causes severe diarrhea and dehydration, left untreated cholera can be fatal within hours.
Also cholera takes 12 hours and 5 days for a person to show symptoms after consuming contaminated water or food.
It affects both children and adults and can kill within hours if left untreated.
The Bacterium that causes cholera is VIBRIO CHOLERA

SYMPTOMS OF CHOLERA

Diarrhea
Nausea and vomiting
Dehydration
Muscle cramps
Shock
Dry mouth
Low blood pressure
Irregular heartbeat
Sunken eyes

HOW IT IS SPREAD

Cholera bacteria is passed through f***s
It is spread by eating, drinking food or water that is contaminated by the f***s of an infected person.

PREVENTION

Wash your hands with soap and water frequently
Drink only safe water
Eat food that's completely cooked and hot
Avoid raw or under cooked seafood
Stick to fruits and vegetables that you can peel your self eg bananas, orange, avocado etc

Folic acid is the synthetic version of the vitamin folate, also known as vitamin B9.

Folate helps the body make healthy red blood cells and is found in certain foods.

Folic acid is used to:

treat or prevent folate deficiency anaemia
help your baby's brain, skull and spinal cord develop properly in pregnancy, to avoid development problems (called neural tube defects) such as spina bifida
help reduce side effects from methotrexate, a medicine used to treat severe arthritis, Crohn's disease or psoriasis
Folic acid is available on prescription. It comes as tablets or as a liquid you swallow.

You can also buy lower dose tablets from pharmacies and supermarkets.

Folic acid can also be combined with:

ferrous fumarate and ferrous sulphate, to treat iron deficiency anaemia

HYPERTENSION

hypertension is a condition where the pressure of the blood is raised above normal. Blood pressure varies and increases with age and it can be affected by the lifestyle.

WHAT CAUSES HYPERTENSION

Blood pressure is typically recorded as two numbers

The Systolic pressure ( As the heartbeat)over The diastolic pressure (as the heart relaxes between beats).

The normal values are 120/80 values between 120-130/80-90 are higher than 140/90 are termed hypertension..

Medical Conditions which can cause hypertension include KIDNEY DISEASE, OBESITY.

An increase in blood pressure does not usually cause any noticeable symptoms, severely elevated pressure may result in

*Headache

*Increase in heart rate.(palpitations)

*General feeling of tiredness

*Ill health.

Blood pressure is affected by the force with which the heart pumps blood ,each antihypertensive drugs works in different way to reduce pressure.

A condition in which the blood doesn't have enough healthy red blood cells.

Anaemia results from a lack of red blood cells or dysfunctional red blood cells in the body. This leads to reduced oxygen flow to the body's organs.
