We're delighted to welcome 45 students to our summer programme this year. The students are working in clinical and non-clinical areas, such as nursing, pathology, imaging services, mental health services, information technology and finance.

Our CEO, Scott Pearman, says, “We hope to inspire and give some practical exposure to students in their chosen field of study through our summer programme. Eager to develop the next generation of healthcare professionals, we also want to entice them to return to us after graduation for full-time positions.”

A dozen medical students are among 45 recruits for summer internships with the Bermuda Hospitals Board, with seven pursuing studies in nursing. The cohort this year, ranging from ages 20 to 29, was se...

Did you know that most people visiting our Emergency Department (ED) are seen and discharged in just over 3 hours? That's better than the international benchmark most EDs overseas try to meet of four hours. It was also achieved in a year of great challenge for the ED team, when people waiting for inpatient beds made the ED very overcrowded earlier this year. While you should ONLY go to the ED for true emergencies (and you will likely wait longer if your issue is not urgent), we hope you are proud of the team who keep caring and saving lives 24/7, through all challenges.
