Santiago Nariño is a community organizer, concept visualizer, event planner and photographer currently working at Institute for Healthcare Improvement as a Latin America project coordinator. As a community organizer, Santiago has established a new set of community centered initiatives that have shifted how College Democrats of Massachusetts and his own organization Latinx Action Group do their work. His approach to organizing is an intersectional approach that attempts to dismantle institutional racism, one that is centered in building bridges of knowledge across the institutions that are usually not built for Latinxs and students of color. He enjoys working to develop local capability and igniting connections within student and local leaders across the state of Massachusetts and community organizations that are leading important work across the Commonwealth. Over the last five years, Santiago has had an array of experiences working on campaigns, from university student group ran multimedia advocacy campaigns to working to elect local, state and federal politicians. As a concept visualizer & event planner, Santiago has worked to develop multi-generational movements, events and conferences across the state of Massachusetts. Most recently, with Amplify Latinx, Santiago is a workshop, conference and event design expert, with experience in areas of multi-media design, event logistical management, interactive program design, volunteer recruitment and cultural and intersectional perspectives. He's managed and lead the design for various campaigns including No Nos Vamos a Callar, Santiago Narino Campaign for DNC, Orange the World Campaign, Divest NU Campaign, The Girl Effect Campaign and various other campaigns across his 6 years of experience. Lastly, as a Photographer, Santiago Nariño Photography, Santiago's seven years of experience working in various settings and campaigns has inspired his work in community organizing and event planning. With a keen eye on form and the use of space, Santiago has shot over 200 sessions of portraits including family, head shots, professional and senior portraits across the state of MA. He's shot over 25 events and shot more than 7 weddings across the span of his career as a photography. Over the last two years, he's worked to expand his artistic eye working with social-justice and intersectional concepts to create and change narratives through photography. Santiago Nariño received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Northeastern University, with a degree in International Affairs and Economics.
