Bom dia!
Infelizmente o evento de encontro da Família Breunig, previsto para setembro deste ano, teve que ser cancelado, em razão das consequências das enchentes.
Segundo o Presidente do Comitê Organizador da XII Breunig's Fest, Carlos Breunig, a nova data para a XII Breunig's Fest será 13 de setembro de 2026.
Local ainda a ser confirmado (Linha Sete de Setembro ou Linha Travessa - Santa Cruz do Sul/RS).

A part of the Breunig family story - told by Jairo Breunig

My grandgrandgrandfather EDUARD KONRAD BREUNIG was born in March 22, 1832, in Nordhausen, Thüringen, Germany, and died in September 1, 1916, in Linha Felipe Nery, Santa Cruz do Sul, RS, Brazil. He married ELEONORE VON MÜHLER, in 1852, daughter of ANDRÉ VON MÜHLER and ROSINA. She was born in January 23, 1827, and died in October 02,1901, in Linha Felipe Nery, Santa Cruz do Sul, RS, Brazil.

My grandgrandfather BRUNO (EDUARD BRUNO) BREUNIG was born in Juny 14, 1856, in Alt-Chemnitz, Chemnitz, Sachsen, Germany, and died in August 08, 1948, in Linha Andrade Neves, Santa Cruz do Sul, RS, Brazil. He married ELISABETHA SPENGLER, in April 22, 1879, daughter of FELIPPE SPENGLER and LUÍSA LORENTZ. She was born in April 29, 1859, in Santa Cruz do Sul, RS, Brazil, and died in August 1, 1931, in Linha Andrade Neves, Santa Cruz do Sul, RS, Brazil.

EDUARD BREUNIG and ELEONORE VON MÜHLER had 7 children, who are:

i. IDA THERESE BREUNIG, b. 16 /02/1854, Gröblitz, Sachsen, Germany; d. 20/05/1922, Arroio das Pedras, Santa Cruz do Sul, RS, Brazil; m. (1) CARL LUDWIG BERLT, in 18/05/1871; b. 08/10/1848; d. 15/02/1895; m. (2) JOHANN FRIEDRICH HERMANN SELL, in 27/04/1900; b. 19/11/1847.

ii. BRUNO (EDUARD BRUNO) BREUNIG, b. 14/06/1856, Alt-Chemnitz, Chemnitz, Sachsen, Germany; d. 08/08/1948, Linha Andrade Neves, Santa Cruz do Sul, RS, Brazil.

iii. OTTO (KARL OTTO) BREUNIG, b. 07/05/1858, Rochlitz, Chemnitz, Sachsen, Germany; d. 09/06/1935, Santa Cruz do Sul, RS, Brazil.

iv. MINNA (GUILHERMINA) BREUNIG, b. 23/01/1861, Chemnitz, Sachsen, Germany; d. 10/09/1941, Vale do Sol, RS, Brazil.

v. HEINRICH EDUARD BREUNIG, b. 13/05/1863, Gröblitz, Chemnitz, Sachsen, Germany; d. 26/10/1901, Santa Cruz do Sul, RS, Brazil.

vi. CARL FRIEDRICH BREUNIG, b. 17/09/1865, Gröblitz, Chemnitz, Sachsen, Germany; d. 01/07/1937, Linha Andrade Neves, Santa Cruz do Sul, RS, Brazil.

vii. ANNA LINA BREUNIG, b. 03/01/1871, Santa Cruz do Sul, RS, Brasil; d. 08/08/1964.

EDUARD KONRAD BREUNIG, his wife ELEONORE VON MÜHLER BREUNIG and their sons, embarked in Hamburg, Germany, on the Norwegian ship "Leif", bound for Rio de Janeiro in 1868. The trip lasted 49 days. In Rio de Janeiro they learned that their destination would be the coffee plantations of Mucury, Minas Gerais. Unhappy, he decided to buy a steamship pass to the port of Rio Grande, in Rio Grande do Sul. During his three-week stay in Rio de Janeiro he met a Frenchman, who got him an audience with Emperor Dom Pedro II, who he finally returned the money paid for the said passages. Two steam ships were used from the port of Rio Grande to Porto Alegre. In Porto Alegre he stayed with his family for another three weeks, leaving with another steamer, to Rio Pardo, from where he went to Santa Cruz do Sul, where he arrived on August 6, 1868. In Santa Cruz do Sul he bought a colony in the region between the current Municipal Cemetery and the University of Santa Cruz do Sul (UNISC).

Eduard Konrad Breunig bought lot no. 16b, in Rio Pardinho Entrance, Santa Cruz do Sul, RS, of 26,400 square braids (127,788m2), for three Réis per square foot and a total of 791,200 Réis, considering house, shed and pigpen included. The lot was sold by Pedro José Haeser, who bought it from Augusto Heinze. The land next to it was bought on October 1, 1855, by Johann Phillip Spengler, with whose daughter Elisabeth my great-grandfather Bruno Breunig ended up marrying on April 22, 1879.
