On Saturday November 4th, 2017, I saw the tragic ending to a Mother and daughters journey to beat AML.
Their story with AML actually only started about two month ago.
This mother and daughter team, lived in a small village at the Western tip of Grand Bahama. Their community West End, is known as the settlement of true hospitality. And, I'm also proud to say that this too, is my home.
Keisha Adderley, is a mother of three beautiful daughters and enjoys her role as mother and confident.
She never imagined that her second daughter Keiara Russell, who had just graduated from Eight Mile Rock High School and Head Girl in June 2017 and newly enrolled University of The Bahamas Bio-Chem Major, would be diagnosed with a terminal disease after a few days of falling ill.
Life was going too smooth for such a strong invasion.
This blog, A Mother's Perspective first story is dedicated to Keisha and Keiara. They remind me of all that is good about being a mother and a child. Keiara, or Keke as she was affectionately called, was humble, smart and beautiful in so many ways and she had a smile that would melt your heart.
I shared my dream of this blog with both of them during one of my visit with Keke at Princess Maragret Hospital and they thought it was a good idea....
The hurt I feel can never compare to the pain her mother will forever feel, but as a mother I know only God can give Keisha the peace she needs.
But, I will always lend my support to a mother and her children.
Can the love ❤ of a mother cease for the child she bears? Never in a million years!!!
