Ogyen Tsuklag Academy - Rephel Mebar Lhakhang This page is to support the project of Sangchen Ogyen Tsuklag monastery and the monks.

Sangchen Ogyen Tsuklag Monastery was built in 8th century by the most important female practitioner Monmo Tashi Khyidren the consort of Guru Padma Sambhava and the princess of Chakhar. It's located at 20 kilometers away from Trongsa Dzong towards Zhemgang in Samcholing under Dakteng gewog, facing to the black mountain range. In the year 2009, the government of Bhutan officially hand over the monastery to the fifth Monla Khedrupchen Rinpoche. The Vision~

Rinpoche had begun to Expand the monastery within the 4.4 acre land to construct a unique Buddhist Academy which can accommodate hundreds of people and transform the Sangchen Ogyen Tsuklag Monastery into a thriving global center of learning and practicing Dharma. Rinpoche intends to develop the monastery into a supportive and compassionate environment where both monks and lay people from all walks of life will be able to study and practice Buddha Dharma.

Announcement of the 6th Annual Summer Retreat at Sangchen Ogyen Tsuklag Monastery

Buddha—once said:
"Monks must remain in retreat during the summer."
In accordance with the traditional Lunar Calendar, from the 15th day of the waxing moon of the 6th month until the new moon of the 7th month in this Wood Female Snake Year, more than 60 monks have gathered at the sacred seat of Dharma Sangchen Ogyen Tsuklag Monastery to observe the 6th Annual Summer Retreat in accordance with the ancient and profound Nyingma lineage.

This retreat is conducted in full harmony with the upholding of the three foundational disciplines of monastic conduct.

Opportunity
