Let’s learn about

Metronidazole tablets

Antibiotics used for a quite a number of infections like skin infections,STI’s,Dental infections,bacterial vaginosis,gastrointestinal problems like H-pylori infections.

Metronidazole should be taken after meals and the duration specified for taking it followed .

It is important to complete course.what does this mean?

*Take the tablets for 5 days or 7 days as instructed by the nurse or doctor or 5 tablets immediately of 400mg tablets.
*Do not stop taking the tablets half way through unless it’s a communication from your doctor.
*Do not get extra tablets from relatives if you feel like your condition is not resolved
*Do not ask for extra tablets from the pharmacy without a prescription from the doctor.

Not following the above instructions puts one at risk of antibiotic resistance.
Likely possibility that with time the same drug won’t help you if prescribed for you again.
This might be on day to day basis health problems or during critical situations that may require a hospital stay.

Avoid Alcohol when taking metronidazole

Taking alcohol with them might cause severe nausea and vomiting ,stomach cramps,headache and dizziness.

Atleast wait 72 hours after taking them before taking alcohol.

For treatment of STIs it is important to be treated at the same time with your partner.

Drinking lots of water is also significant while taking metronidazole tablets

• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to improve patient care

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy
• Registered with the BHPC(blue card)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• High level of professionalism and attention to detail
• Previous experience will be an added advantage
• Attention to detail
• Retail pharmacy experience
