Here are some tips to help managing cramping pains ;
Heat 🌡
Use a heating pad or a hot water bottle on the belly. It should be hot enough to relief some cramps but not too hot to burn your skin. If they are not available to you, try to take a long hot shower, we do not recommend bathes to prevent infection. A hot drink also helps if you are feeling for it, hot cocoa, peppermint tea and ginger tea are great, try to stay away from coffee.
Distractions 🎧
Watch your favourite shows, listen to some relaxing music or talk to a friend on the phone. Try to distract yourself from focusing entirely on the pain.
Positions
Lay on your side and curl up your body. It can help relieve some discomfort. Change positions from time to time. When the pain settles down a bit, get up and walk a bit to help pass clots and tissue.
Positive mindset 🧘
I think this is also an important one! Stay positive and trust your body. Know that this pain is temporary and that you are able to get through this.
Medication 💊
Ibuprofen and Diclofenac are the most common and helpful medications to relieve pain. Take them according to the instructions given.
