🤧Rhinitis is a reaction that happens in the eyes, nose, and throat when allergens in the air trigger the release of histamine in the body. Histamine causes itching, swelling, and fluid to build up in the fragile linings of nasal passages, sinuses, and eyelids.

🤧Allergic rhinitis can happen on a seasonal basis or year-round. Year-round allergic rhinitis happens more often in younger children.

‼️Common symptoms of allergic rinitis include:
📌sneezing
📌watery and itchy eyes
📌runny nose
📌stuffy nose

⚠️Allergic rhinitis is often confused with viral or bacterial infections, in case of any doubts consult your Pediatrician.

🤒Fever is defined as an increase in body temperature, it is important to remember that fever by itself is not an illness.

🤒Fever can be caused by the following:

🌡Infection: most of the time are caused by a viral or a bacterial infection.

🌡Overdressing: especially in newborns when they are overbundled or in a hot environment because they dont regulate their body temperature as well as older children. However fever in newborns can indicate a serious infection and must be checked.

🌡Immunization: after infants are vaccinated, they can present a lowgrade fever.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
👶🏻You can give antipyretics such as acetaminophen. Ibuprofen or diclofenac only when recommended by a doctor.

👶🏻Dress your child in lightweight clothing and cover with a light sheet or blanket. Overdressing and overbundling can prevent body heat from escaping and can cause the temperature to rise.

👶🏻Offer plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration because fevers cause children to lose fluids more rapidly than usual.

👶🏻Most importantly always seek Pediatric evaluation.

Getting a good latch-on can be a challenge for new parents trying to figure out the process, but it is the key to successful breastfeeding. An appropriate latch allows the newborn to get enough milk and helps reduce ni**le soreness. A tight seal around the baby’s mouth and the ni**le is needed for a good latch.

>To ensure a correct latch, make sure you:
👼Bring your baby in close to your body
👼The head is titled backwards
👼Baby's mouth is wide open
👼The tongue is forward and right down
👼 Baby's chin touches his/her mother's breast

Breastfeeding is the best way to provide the newborn with the nutrients required. The WHO recommends exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months of life; thereafter it is recommended to continue breastfeeding up to 2 years, adequately supplementing with other foods.

***BENEFITS***
🤱 Breast milk has the right amount of fat, sugar, water, protein and minerals needed for a baby's growth and development.

🤱 Breast milk is easier to digest than formula and breastfed babies have less gas, fewer feeding problems and less constipation.

🤱Breast milk contains antibodies that protect infants from ear infections, diarrhea, respiratory illnesses and allergies.

🤱 Breast infants have a lower risk of sudden infant death syndrome. It is reduced by approximately 50% at all ages throughout infancy.
