Could it be that your sweet tooth Is Just a Yeast Infection?
Appetizing to think about, I know. Candida infection can cause intense sugar cravings. You might know sugar is not good for you and find yourself drawn to sugar anyways as requested by your systemic yeast overgrowth.
It’s definitely catch 22 with the candida infection as eating sugar essentially feeds the intestinal yeast and having too much yeast in your gut makes you crave more sugar.
We all have some amount of candida in our digestive tract, but the overgrowth caused by factors such as low immunity, chronic stress and poor digestion can cause a havoc in the candida levels.
Many things we eat turn into sugar when broken down, so candida diet is tough to follow and it doesn’t solve the root reason it’s there in the first place which is poor digestion of chronic low grade inflammation of the gut.
Some of the candida issues include digestive discomfort(gas, bloating, constipation, diarrhea), fatigue, headache, muscle and joint pain, blocked sinuses, sugar cravings, depression, brain fog, poor concentration, sleep problems, eczema and food sensitivities. Essentially symptoms of an unhealthy gut. The chronic inflammation can lead to more chronic diagnoses like leaky gut syndrome.
