ADHD and Self-Harm: How to Help the Girls Who Suffer Most
“Girls often hold all of these feelings of anxiety and shame and fear and frustration in, so too often, no one is aware of how bad they’re feeling about themselves until it’s too late,” says Littman, author of Understanding Girls With ADHD
So often women are misdiagnosed, and go under the radar throughout their childhood. Masking symptoms and sweeping experience under the rug for too long can rob a woman from ever truly stepping into the identity they were meant to lead.
There are many forms of treatments to help ADHD girls develop the confidence and self-efficacy they need to grow into the amazing woman every parent hopes for their little girl. So don’t allow the fear of medication to be what holds you back from getting the help she needs.
The ADHD community is one of the most supportive and extraordinary groups of individuals across the globe.
One of the best forms of treatment today is Neurofeedback with an unbelievable amount of research done that proves its power, and the best part is you can access it for home use also.
If you would like to hear more let me know and I will send you a little something special ❤️
These girls need to feel empowered and supported to be all they can be and as their caregivers you need support. So I want you to know...I got you! 🧠🫶
ADHD and Self-Harm: How to Help the Girls Who Suffer Most

Listen! Birdsong Is Good for Mental Health - Neuroscience News
The same goes with crickets. The frequency of the sounds resonate with our bodies, natural frequencies in the same way that if you put two guitars on either side of the room and pluck the G string on one the G string on the other across the room, will also resonate in the same frequency.
I have been using sound therapy in most of my services from basic massage to my coaching practice. Pretty neat don’t you think ?!?

ARE YOU TREATING YOUR ANXIETY RIGHT?
Although it can be misunderstood to be the the exact same experience it can be for very different reasons.
Anxiety is the #1 issue reported by patience of doctors world wide.
We have been treating anxiety and panic with the exact same treatments for years with little understanding of how medications like antidepressants work inside of the brain.
Most professionals will look at the body part before deciding on a treatment that is most appropriate but yet when it comes to mental health issues it tends to not be the case.
When looking at a brain map of clients who suffer from anxiety it can be identified where in the brain the anxiety is presenting.
This makes all the difference when considering treatment and can prevent waiting time, money and health on a treatment that is not able to treat the type of anxiety or worse…pushing a diagnosis of depression.

Are Mental Disorders Evolved Cognitive Styles?
A concept worth visiting. Through my journey in understanding my relationship to being a Neurodiverse female; alongside my academic study, I have often thought of the diversity in outcomes between people with similar mental illnesses.
I find more often than not the experience of each individual is less about the “severity of the illness” but more about what that individual thinks of the “illness”, the views and support/unsupport of their environment and the education and understanding they have about it.
Why do some severe ADHD cases find themselves on the wrong side of the law vs the ones who were able to focus on the advanced skills their high energy brings them to become a CEO of a Fortune 500 company?
Could it be possible that the deciding factor was simply what they were taught to believe being ADHD means?
From a young age, we are told to discover our flaws and work at them until what?… until we are average? Lol kinda seems crazy to me when you compare it to the alternative.
Discover what you're good at and work at that until you are amazing at it! For a culture that is supposed to celebrate our differences, we seem to do quite the opposite!
If you think so too then I’m sure you will enjoy this article too! Enjoy and please leave your thoughts on this and what you think of this article!

Empathy is not sympathy and yet we tend to think of it as so. True empathy leaves The receiver feeling heard, understood and empowered to move forward without feeling less than or shamed for their circumstance. Sympathy is more for ourselves while empathy is the most powerful way we can support another. Be careful which one you are offering!

❤️ It is your job to share your vision with others but it’s not your job to make them understand it! Some people will never be able to understand your vision no matter what because they stay committed to staying stuck because growth is unknown territory, scary and uncomfortable for them.
Self-care is about taking care of yourself - mind, body and soul. Self-care is also about protecting your energy. Don't let others drain you.

The statement “Knowledge Is Power” has never had more meaning for me then it does today! I can’t help but wonder what the possibilities would had been if I understood this long before I did.
Filling the mind with the right information about things like the brain, emotions and epigenetics is something I choose to empower my daughter with during these important year's of her life.
So if you are lucky enough to also be in charge of sculpting your own little beautiful mind be sure it's with the right information. This kind that will inspire, empower and build that small beautiful mind into one that truly understands how much autonomy and power they have over their own lives.
Every mind we will remember throughout the generations all started as a empty garden that someone just so happened to plant the right kinda seeds in.
So...what kind of garden will your children grow? 🧠❤️🌸☘️🌳🌹🌼

Technology has the potential to empower and enrich learning, but there is also a risk it will overpower life as we know it!
And what impact will the future of employment have on education? The global economy is being transformed with jobs outsourced to developing nations and artificial intelligence.
How will we prepare balanced global citizens with a heart for servant leadership in an increasingly secular, internationalized technology-driven fast-changing world?
Well...I just may hold a possible answer to this global problem and I'm proud to be partners with an international company that is helping to solve this problem as we speak!
That company is Neuro-link and the answer is brain development and optimization. If you would like to receive your online assessment and receive your very own blueprint on how you can stay on top of a job position top pick, secure your career and value in a company without the fear of being replaced by an algorithm or simply learn how your brain works best in every department of life (including how you communicate in your relationships) then our Neuro Agility Brain Assessments may be that limitless pill you've always dreamed of!
Neuro-link has been developing people, teams and entire corporations across the globe and I'm proud to be the very first Canadian partner to bring it straight to Nova Scotia.

I knew that when I received my invitation to join the team of therapists and clinicians at Myndlift after my interview that I was not only agreeing to join a global family of professionals who share a common interest in brain development and mental health. I was also agreeing to be a part of something much larger than I could ever imagine.
I feel blessed to be a part of a movement to change how we think of brain health, mental wellness and our abilities to play a very active role in how we direct our lives with the power of our greatest asset…our brains.
I am thrilled to be the first Myndlift therapist in my local area. To pave a new path for individuals, families and professionals committed to changing opportunity and growth within rural communities.
As I unfold my private practice I would also like to invite other professionals, leaders and passion-driven change makers to reach out to me. I believe that for real lasting change to take place it will take collaboration, inclusion and innovation.
I have spent the past 5 or more years bringing together several global leading companies and partnering with them to bring their magic and opportunities to my home communities.
We are so fortunate to have the organizations and people we have working hard spread among our departments in mental health, recovery, and domestic violence and the many organizations that offer so much education and opportunities in our areas.
I hope to not only introduce new information and treatments in our area, but I hope to enhance and work together with the existing organizations to help remove some existing barriers and contribute to the efficacy and success of long-term results.
So if you or your organization would love to chat about how Neurofeedback and QEEG Brain assessments could help to transform the lives of the people you serve then please reach out and let’s talk! 😊
