So it's been a while since I posted a few random thoughts but I have been reading an amazing book by Anita Moorjani and it has me pondering many things.
We as people are a very negative bunch. I thought I was a pretty positive person until....
1. Why, when we assume do we always assume the worst case scenario and never the best case scenario? Wouldn't it be so much easier on our minds, souls and health? I mean, you dont know for sure right? So why not inject some positivity into your mind and day and feel less stress and fear?
2. Whenever we look into a mirror, why is it we only see the faults or flaws? When was the last time you made a point to see your best attributes in that reflection?
3. Why is it our self talk is usually negative? When was the last time you spent a few minutes praising yourself for your strengths or good decisions instead of your weaknesses or mistakes?
I believe it is because we do not love ourselves hard enough, unconditional enough or just plain, enough. If we did, just think of how much more love and compassion we could share with those around us? Family, friends or even strangers? You can't share with others what you dont have for yourself. I imagine it like, if I only have one jar of tomato sauce in my cupboards, I can only share that one jar with others.
My personal challenge is to spend more time focusing on the positive and less on the negative.
You can have an amazing garden, you just need to decide whether you water the flowers or the weeds.
