Dental Receptionist/ Floater Position
Job Type: Full-time Maternity Leave (12 months) with future transition to permanent position.
Pay: $20.00-$28.00 per hour (based on experience)
Expected hours: 32 - 37.5 hours per week
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing front desk operations, scheduling appointments, and ensuring smooth office workflow. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with dental software systems, and a strong understanding of healthcare administrative procedures. The Dental Receptionist will play a vital role in providing warm and effective patient services while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards.
Duties:
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using Tracker dental practice management software.
-Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility verification using systems.
- Collect payments and process dental billing and collections accurately.
- Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette and handle patient inquiries effectively.
- Maintain accurate patient records electronically.
Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, including intake forms and medical records.
- Assist with insurance claims processing.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Perform administrative support tasks such as filing, data entry and document management.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and patient flow within the office.
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk environment to promote a welcoming atmosphere.
Experience:
- Prior experience in a dental or medical office setting is highly preferred, especially with dental terminology and clinic experience.
- Proficiency with dental practice management software is advantageous, but not a requirement.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with multi-line phone systems.
- Demonstrated customer service skills in a healthcare environment with an emphasis on patient service excellence.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation review procedures is required.
Office management or administrative experience in a healthcare setting will be considered an asset.
