It’s so easy to get caught up in things we can’t control: a stressful day at work, unexpected life events, or other people’s opinions.

BUT: Your mindset is always in your control.

Here’s how to simplify and shift your mindset:

🧘 Focus on what you can do today, not on what you can’t.
🙌 Embrace progress over perfection, knowing every step forward counts.
📝 Practice gratitude daily. It’s simple but powerful for reframing your thoughts.

I work with my clients to develop a ‘reframe practice,’ where we turn negative thoughts into opportunities for growth.

👉 For me, this mindset shift has helped me handle setbacks without getting completely derailed.

To all my fellow high-achievers, here’s a reminder: “Simple can be harder than complex. You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple.” — Steve Jobs.

Simplicity is underrated. We’re bombarded with advice that makes everything seem WAY more complicated than it has to be.

Take your nutrition… here’s one way to make it SIMPLE:

The Plate Method 🍽️ If you’re not into counting macros, this will help keep your meals balanced without having to count every calorie:

🥦 Fill half your plate with non-starchy veggies (like leafy greens, bell peppers, or roasted broccoli).

🍗 Fill a quarter of your plate with a quality protein source (like chicken, tofu, or fish).

🍠 The last quarter is for healthy carbs (like quinoa, sweet potato, etc.).

🥑 Add healthy fats in moderation, like olive oil, nuts, or avocado.

How easy is that?

👉 I use this with clients who are too busy to meal prep or track maros, and it’s a game changer.

The key is to find something simple that works for YOU.

Ever feel like getting healthy has turned into a full-time job? 🙋‍♀️

I’ve been there.

But here’s the truth: Lasting results don’t come from doing more — they come from simplifying and making a few KEY habits part of your everyday routine.

Here’s how to make that happen:

1️⃣ Anchor Habits. Take a habit you want to build and tie it to one you already do without thinking. Example: after brushing your teeth, spend 2 mins doing deep breathing or mobility exercises. Now brushing your teeth becomes a reminder for the new habit!

2️⃣ One Meal, Double Protein. When you’re prepping a meal, cook TWICE the amount of protein. Use it for today’s lunch and tomorrow’s dinner. You’ll spend less time cooking and can hit your protein targets without extra effort.

3️⃣ “Power Hour” Prep. Pick one hour each week (could even be 20-30 mins) to get organized. Plan your workouts, write up your grocery list, or chop veggies for the week.

This really comes into play when you’ve got a busy week ahead. It’s all about making your daily routine work for YOU.

We live in a culture that craves MORE — more tasks, more commitments, more everything.

Imagine how freeing it would feel to let go of the habits, commitments, or mindsets that are holding you back.

🎯 Instead of a long, complicated workout, focus on just a few key movements that build strength, improve mobility, or boost your energy. This could be squats and push-ups, 10 minutes of yoga, or a short HIIT session.

🎯 Streamline your nutrition by building balanced meals that are easy to prepare and fit your goals, like a simple protein smoothie, a salad with pre-cooked protein, or overnight oats packed with fiber and healthy fats.

🎯 Declutter your mind by reducing screen time and with simple self-care, 5 minutes of deep breathing, journaling your intentions for the day,or an evening walk to unwind.

It’s all about doing less — but doing it with greater focus and purpose.

This especially applies when you’re focusing on what really matters for your health.

We hear this all the time…

But that doesn’t make it any easier to believe when the scale isn’t budging, your energy feels off, or that “off week” turns into two.

Here’s what I remind my clients (and myself!):
👉 Progress isn’t about perfect days or constant wins.
👉 It’s about showing up, even when it feels messy.
👉 It’s about zooming out and remembering why you started.

Yes, there will be weeks where it feels like you’re stalling—or even going backward...

But that’s NORMAL. It’s all part of the process.

The key to sticking with your fat loss and strength goals in midlife is to focus on what you CAN do.

It’s the small wins—choosing protein at every meal, getting in a 10-minute workout when you're short on time, prioritizing sleep—that build the momentum you need to keep going.

All those small “yesses” add up.

And before you know it—you’ll look back and realize just how far you’ve come.
