I had the honour to make these Elevate Yoga — Power of Presence graduation hoodies for this year’s cohort 🫶🏼🧘🏻‍♀️✨

If you didn’t know, I graduated from my 200-hr YTT at back in spring 2022. So having the opportunity to make these means a lot because I know how much work is put into completing yoga teacher training.

Omg hi friends 👋🏼🦋 — it’s been over a year since I put Shop Oolong The Way on hold as we moved to a new town.

Although I’m not fully back to an open business, I have been enjoying doing small projects for friends that ask 🥰

Hi friends ✨

Some exciting big life news — We bought a house last week! 🥳

I’ve been a little quieter over here because life has been super busy with my yoga teacher training program and my new promotion at work.

I was still taking on custom orders but with adding moving onto my plate, it’s only reasonable to say that Shop Oolong The Way will be temporarily closed.

We’re moving just outside the city too, so that throws a bit of a curveball into the business model and plan I had moving forward.

I’ll be having a very large liquidation of all my inventory, please stay tuned!

I’m going to take this time to figure out where I want SOTW to go and focus on my exciting personal life events.

This is a goodbye for now but hopefully a “see you again!” in the near future 💕

It’s been such an honour lately to be able to make surprise announcement apparel for my friends 🤍

This cute custom set of aunt and uncle crewnecks were recently used to tell my gf’s sibling and sister in law she was expecting! 🥺

*cue all the happy tears*

As much as I’ve slowed down my small business, it brings me joy to be able to be a part of these types of projects and memories.

💙UKRAINE FUNDRAISER💛

Today I’m launching a sunflower design in support of the Ukraine.

The sunflower, Ukraine’s national flower, is becoming a global symbol of solidarity.

The sunflower has long held a meaningful place in the hearts of many Ukrainians as the national flower. But since the invasion of Russia, the plant has become a global symbol of resistance, unity and hope.

50% of all proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross to support the Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal.

Thanks to the Government of Canada, individual donations to the Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal will be matched until March 18th, 2022.

— A little life update ✨

I’ve been quieter over on my small business page because there’s been a lot of change happening.

I recently resigned from what I thought was my dream job, realizing that work-life balance is incredibly important to me. Unfortunately the work culture did not align with those values & I decided to leave.

I was very grateful that the universe was looking out for me because my old employer reached out with a new, exciting role. I jumped on the opportunity and am now part of a wonderful, supportive team.

I also just started a yoga teacher training program (RYT-200 hr)! It’s been something I’ve thought of doing for a long time and finally kicked self-doubt out the door to apply. I’m not 100% sure if I’ll end up teaching but I know it’ll help me grow my own self-awareness and deepen my yoga practice, which I’m all for.

When it comes to Shop Oolong The Way, I took an intentional pause because I knew I couldn’t devote the energy needed into it.

So for now as I try to figure out my life & the path I want to take — I think I’ll hold a blowout sale to benefit a local non-profit, then decide where I want to take it from there.

Please stay tuned for that sale event & thank you for continuing to show me so much love and support.

This new chapter truly gives me joy and I look forward to what it has to offer me 💕

About JTaingDesign

My journey as an artist began when I was young. I was the artsy one in school and you best bet there were doodles all over my notebooks. I had the opportunity to go to a specialized high school for visual arts but it was across the city, thus too far for my commute (horrible excuse thinking back to it). Fast forward 10 years and I instead pursued a career in the health field. As fulfilling as I have been with my career path, I still crave a creative outlet to express myself. As such, I started my own lifestyle blog and brand - Life Oolong The Way. This blog website, and Instagram has allowed me creative freedom to produce quality content for my audience. But still, there was something missing. As I spent my time pondering, it led me to the idea of starting up a small business on Etsy where I can design art with a passion and goal in mind. So, here I am! A late-to-bloom "professional" artist, but an "excited-to-learn" entrepreneur in the making.
