Abortion Support Services Atlantic A 100% volunteer run, pro-reproductive rights group, providing non-medical support for anyone seeking abortion care in the Atlantic provinces.

We do not provide medical advice or perform clinical duties. ASSA is here to provide support services for anyone having an abortion in the Atlantic Provinces. We can help you navigate the medical system, connect you with a support person who will accompany you to your appointment(s), help you find a place to spend the night if you need to travel or help you to connect to any other services you need. ASSA is here to support you and your decisions. ASSA volunteers do not offer therapeutic counselling services or medical advice. We will cross check your needs with our volunteer list and match you with the best person. We will ask you for your explicit permission before any contact information is exchanged. ASSA also offers trauma-informed abortion doula training multiple times per year. Shannon organizes trainings in Halifax but can also come to you. If you are interested in bring the training to your area, please contact assa.coordinator@gmail.com
