Community Living York South is a not-for-profit organization that provides support services to children, youth, adults and seniors who have an intellectual disability who live in Southern York Region and their families. We support people in directing their own lives and in promoting partnerships, opportunities, well-being, freedom and contributions in their community.

We wrapped up virtual camp with a splash during Beach Week! Campers explored a hands-on science experiment about water density, tested their knowledge with fun beach-themed trivia, and came together for some exciting team-building activities, including a lively round of Team Jeopardy.

To close out our summer journey, we revisited all the important social skills we’ve been practicing—from emotional regulation to setting healthy boundaries in relationships—tying everything together in a meaningful way. It was the perfect send-off to celebrate growth, teamwork, and summer fun!

We must say, Week 7 at camp was a splash! We dove under the sea with ocean games, marine trivia, and creative sea creature crafts. The highlight of our week was our amazing trip to Ripley’s Aquarium, where we saw so many captivating sea creatures up close. Back at summer camp, we splashed around at the water park, and had a couple of movie afternoons where we watched The Little Mermaid and Finding Dory. From splash-pad giggles to wide-eyed aquarium moments, this week was the perfect mix of fun, friends, and ocean vibes.

From Disney dreams to jumping sky-high at Sky Zone, this week at Vaughan Camp was packed with adventure! The week kicked off with a visit from an incredible music therapist who had everyone singing, drumming, and grooving. Campers also took on new challenges during their work experience at Maple Honda and the Library.
They also participated in a communication skills workshop to help build confidence and self-expression. Another unforgettable week full of magic, movement, and memories.
