This week a young woman, Maygan, came for an EAL session. Maygan has a beautiful energy about her. She also has cerebral palsy and is in a wheelchair.
We spent time getting to know the ponies over their stalls and allowing them to get used to her wheelchair. We talked about setting boundaries with the ponies - how when we approach the ponies we allow them to set the boundary and when the ponies approach us, we set the boundary.
I brought Poppy out to meet Maygan and we asked Poppy to whoa. Poppy stood in front of Maygan and her wheelchair and without any cue from me she bowed. It was such a beautiful moment. These ponies reflect our internal psychological states. They know better than we do what is needed. I am truly in awe of these incredible Newfoundland Ponies. 🐴❤️
