No kids were injured in the making of this video 🤣
Context for the last video:
Jayden was just over 1 and still very wobbly/unpredictable so I had to climb up the stairs behind her so she wouldn’t slip or fall off the sides of the stairs but then I realized I wouldn’t be able to get down to catch her in time as this 1 year old wouldn’t wait for me. So I asked then 2 year old Maddie to stand and front of the slide to help Jayden slow down and then she could get off on her own.
In hindsight I probably should have said no and I don’t remember why I let her go down the slide.. maybe I was too tired for the tantrum that would likely ensure, maybe I was trying to give her more independence.
Anyhow, my plan worked great the first 3 times we did it.. this was the 4th time 😬
The audio you didn’t hear:
Me: Ready to catch her Maddie?
Maddie: Yes I got her Mama
As you see she didn’t have her 😬Thankfully Jayden bounced right up and carried on.. grateful for squishy toddlers.
Sometimes we choose right and sometimes we choose wrong. I think it all comes out in the wash.
Shoutout to the Mamas with multiple tiny kids, some days you just don’t have enough hands. One day at a time, it gets easier!

One of the greatest benefits of consistent strength training?
Improved Functional Capacity.
Everything we do in our day requires an amount of physical effort.
The physical effort required can range from:
Low: sitting, driving, working
Medium: laundry, vacuuming, gardening, walking
High: carrying something heavy up the stairs, running after your toddler, picking up heavy items from the ground
Or in the case of this video, carrying your 3 year old the rest of the way home because they are a typical 3rd child and have decided they no longer want to scooter 🤣
When we consistently strength train in a progressive way our tissues (muscles, bones, ligaments, tendons) adapt, get stronger and their capacity increases.
This increased tissue capacity translates to an overall increased global functional capacity that allows us to do physical tasks with less “effort.” Those tasks that felt exhausting prior to strength training or maybe led to unwanted symptoms (back pain, extreme fatigue, pelvic symptoms) don’t anymore because the physical tasks are no longer depleting or exceeding our bodies functional capacity.
The physical demands of life, especially early motherhood can be high. To prevent injury, decrease fatigue and improve quality of life strength training is key!
When you train hard, life is easier.

It seems too easy but it works wonders for me! When I get home from work or first thing in the morning if I throw on my sports bra and exercise bottoms I am WAYYY more likely to actually follow through with my intention to exercise!
I have so many other things that I’m thinking about when I’m home. I often WANT to exercise and then somehow the entire day has gone by and I haven’t done what I had planned to do.
Momentum is so powerful, if I’m already dressed when I get the chance to move I’m ready to go instead of spending 10 mins searching through 4 laundry baskets to find the sports bra I like and giving up- lol!
It’s one step in the direction I want my day to go. Give it a try and let me know how it goes!
