Parents, be aware. Like so many things, it's usually right in front of your eyes.

When kids play online games, they may also be playing with strangers - including adults. Be aware.

Predators look for opportunities to meet their victims in places like video game chat rooms. They can conceal their identity and pretend to be kids online to befriend their victims and try to gain their trust. They learn what children like and talk to them like their peers do. It‘s all an act.

Eventually, they ask kids to connect in other ways online, like on other apps (such as WhatsApp, where conversations are more private) or even ask to meet in person. This is a trap!

The danger isn’t always the games – it’s the people kids meet online.
