Don’t forget to capture those Newborn features 👣 They change so fast! I snapped some close ups of all my girls when they were newborns so I will always have those precious details, little toes, hands, their eye lashes, baby hair, little lips 💕 Edit them in black and white and you have pro quality pictures without breaking the bank! 💜 I may be slow to respond to emails and won’t be booking any prenatal/ postpartum sessions for a few months.

💧 Staying hydrated in summer is so important, I have one coffee in the morning then drink water the rest of the day. Sometimes it’s nice to have an afternoon drink though! Pro tip: fresh citrus and ice dresses up any drink so well! For extra hydration and less sugar mix half water and lemon aid or your choice of juice! 🍊🍋 🧊

Stop telling moms to sleep when the baby sleeps. She knows she should sleep when she can. And to be honest, she would love to lay around with her new baby sleeping all day. But she can't.

"I need to eat in peace"
"I need to pump"
"I need alone time"
"I need to clean"
"I need to catch up on laundry"
"I need to spend time with my other kids"
"I need to do some work"
"I need to cook"
"I need to shower"

Instead of telling a new mom to sleep when the baby sleeps, try offering to help!

"I will hold the baby while you shower"
"I will wash the dishes"
"I'll bring dinner by tomorrow"
"Let me take the older kids out for the afternoon"
"Why don't I make a cup of coffee for you"
"I will fold the laundry"

New moms need help. They may not ask for it because in today's world you are suppose to snapback to your original size and routine and keep going as if you didn't just birth a baby. But they do. So check in, drop off a meal, or schedule a time to come by and help out!

I might teach and talk about physiological birth a lot, but did you know that I’ve had three cesarean births?

I’m proud of all of them because they are all uniquely my birth experiences.⁣ (although I did have my share of guilt and it took a while to get through it)
