Terry Lynn Hills As a experienced RMT, I provide a personally designed treatment & plan to meet your needs & goals. Hello and welcome! Facia has it's own nervous system.

My name is Terry Lynn Hills,
I am a Registered Massage Therapist and a member of Certified Registered Massage Therapist Association. This means your treatments are covered by most insurance companies. I started my career providing care doing geriatric and general massage, and still provide special geriatric massage care today. Over the years, I've expanded my knowledge and skills to advance as a Therapist for all ages and lifestyles. Regardless of your age, we're all unique in how we hurt and heal. Thus there is no "cookie cutter" treatment. Each person requires their own personally designed treatment each and every visit. The body will change from one treatment to the next and so must the treatment. Recognizing this is key to keep the body moving forward in healing. This can also cut down the number of visits needed and getting you back living a painfree life. Treatments Offered:

FASCIAL RELEASE:

Fascia is a thin connective tissue throughout the body that links our muscles, bones and organs. Fascia runs continually from your head to your toes and plays a large role in our body's posture and movement. If you have tightness in your shoulder, the fascia can pull into your back, hip and even down you leg. TREATMENT:
A safe and effective hands-on treatment involving the application of gentle sustained pressure to the fascial restrictions to eliminate pain and restoring movement. MASSAGE THERAPY:

Therapuetic massage uses several the the same techniques used in general massage. The difference is, Therapeutic Massage targets injuries of soft tissue to provide release and recovery from injury, pain, tightness and limited Range of Motion. Working within the client's comfort is extremely important, as causing high levels of pain or discomfort places the body into the "Fight or Flight" state, which can interfere with the body's healing ability. RAPID NeuroFascial Reset ( Upper-Lower body)

A neurologically based soft tissue release that addresses the Central Nervous System by releasing tension and restrictions with the muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. MICROCURRENT POINT STIMULATION - DOLPHIN NEUROSTIM. MPS applies brief, concentrated DC microcurrent implulses to specific treatment points to relax muscles, calm the nervous system. When the MPS is applied to pathology influencing all three systems, nervous, muscular and endocrine, the MPS is effective for treating many chronic and acute soft tissue pain conditions. SCAR TISSUE RELEASE

Using the Microcurrent Point Stimulation it uses the latest scientific advances to address both chronic pain and dermal scarring from post trauma or surgery. Scars strain and pull fascia which connects to all muscles and organs of the body. Scars form adhesions inside the body, reducing muscle performance and produce pain. They block metabolism and circulation, producing muscle stagnation. C-Sections have a negative influence far beyond the scar itself.

Try this. With your leg in a relaxed position, dorsiflex your ankle (bend the foot back at the ankle). Now, repeat that, but with your hip flexed and your knee fully extended. Feel a difference? That difference you feel is nerve tension. What many read as hamstrings and calf tightness is really just nerve tension.

I as well, often have this conversation in my office and say the same thing when asked about this. This is a great explanation of why foam rollers aren't always the best choice.

Foam rolling the IT band has become somewhat of a contentious subject, with some loving it and others thinking it's a total waste of time. Commonly, in the "waste of time" camp, the argument is that one can't forcibly stretch the IT band due to its strength. Unfortunately, that's actually a bit of a silly argument that broadly misses the point. The tensile strength of the IT band is irrelevant to stretching because stretching isn't a matter of force. Stretching is a neurological effect, not a mechanical one. It's not a function of FORCE. If the IT band, or any other soft tissue stretches, it's because the nervous system relaxed it -- typically in response to a stimulus. Any soft-tissue can be caused to relax, often with minimal if any mechanic force. Foam rolling the IT band can be a very effective way to get the IT band to relax and to improve the health of the connective tissues of the lateral thigh. That said, I don't think an actual foam roller is the best way to do that. It's too big and too firm. I'm a fan of using pool noodles.

I often see this situation when a client has had a general massage. Proper assessment is vital when dealing with the human body !!!

My wife got a massage the other day. She loved it of course, but afterwards, her back went into spasm. This isn't particularly unusual. I pulled out my portable table at home to figure it out (I'm always prepared). I asked if the guy did any particularly heavy work anywhere during the session. Apparently, he went especially heavy on the hamstrings. I tested the hamstrings, and of course they were totally inhibited. When you release a muscle that's not engaging well, it typically just makes the muscle perform even worse, leading to additional spasm. The spasmed hamstrings were creating poor pelvic and low back stability. I found restrictions around the sternal fascia that brought the hamstrings back online. This sort of thing is the risk you take releasing tissues willy-nilly without first figuring out WHY they're tight first. Proper assessment will often steer you in another direction.

The distal 4 inches or so of the triceps is some of the most fibrotic tissue you'll come across in most folks. Yet, it's rarely tender at all. Once released, the overall sensation and mobility at the elbow is dramatically changed. People are typically blown away by the change. "I had no idea!"

I think many feel this way. The pain is gone and they feel good and thats great but that doesn't mean the problem has been totaly resolved. Completing the care will give you the best chance for a complete rocovery.

Sometimes you've got to stay the course. I've posted before how problems typically build over time, only becoming symptomatic after reaching a tipping point. It's for this reason I sometimes encourage a client to return for a follow-up visit even if their symptoms have resolved. I need only to have gotten the issue back below that tipping point, not all the way better, for the symptoms to go away. If you end treatment prematurely, sometimes the problem can return.

A lot of us have an intellectual understanding of fascia in the body. Only when working through layers of tissue on cadavers does one gain a full appreciation of the sheer magnitude. Our muscular connections are practically an afterthought. Structurally speaking, fascia definitely rules the day.

SCAR RELEASE, why is it important . Did you know that scars, no matter how big or small, how new or old can alter a person's emotional state, making a person more vulnerable to sadness and anxiety. Scars control chronic pain. A tiny skin nerve can be injured or compressed by scar tissue, which leads to the frequent ailment known as scar pain.
Scars control our emotions and activates stress throughout our body.

Frequently people come to see me with challenging or chronic issues, after attempting other therapies that concentrate solely on one aspect of the issue. Unfortunately, this narrow focus often leads to unresolved problems or short-lived results. My approach differs, I view the body as a complex, interconnected system. In my sessions, I integrate various modalities and disciplines. This approach increases the chances of effectively addressing the root cause of the issue or at very least, gaining a more comprehensive understanding of it's origins.

Fascia has an energy storage/return function integral to elastic recoil in the body. Different animals have various levels of efficiency in the energy return capacity of their fascia. Human fascia has a return capacity of 97%, the same as gazelles and kangaroos. The sloth's for instance, is much much lower. This elastic return is key to efficient movement. If you've ever watched a runner who appeared to move effortlessly and seemed very light on their feet, you were watching elastic return in action. The more of that elastic fascial recoil you harness, the less concentric effort is required in your movements. You'll actually exert less energy.

Denial is a very common reason for people to NOT seek treatment for their bodily problems. Seeking treatment requires acknowledging certain uncomfortable truths...

- You aren't invincible
- Some problems require you to take an active role in your healing
- Not every problem will simply go away if you wait long enough
- Some problems require help beyond what you can do for yourself
- If you seek treatment, it's possible you may be told something you don't want to hear

Hi everyone. I just want to let you know that my online booking through Noterro is not working properly and I am switching back today to Janeapp. I so sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. I was unaware of what was happening as it all looked good from my side.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
