The SCM is a long neck muscle that runs from the sternum and clavicle up to the mastoid bone behind the ear. It helps you turn and tilt your head.

Why it can cause headaches 🤕

Trigger points (muscle knots) can send pain to the forehead, temple, or behind the eye.

Tightness from posture (phone/computer use) strains the muscle.

Nerve irritation near the SCM can create tension-type headaches or dizziness.

💡 A tight SCM is a common cause of tension headaches related to neck strain.
