✨ well hello there ✨
As we approach my biggest event to date, I don’t think I’ve ever formally introduced myself!
Hello! I’m Carrie and I’m the creator behind Green Guac.
I am an Anishnaabe Kwe residing is Bradford Ontario with my partner and animal family. I am a huge potterhead, a swiftie, someone who loves her family & friends and prides myself on being the oldest of 3 siblings.
I have always had the creative bug, for as long as I can remember. But never really channeled it into one specific hobby. Until 2016 when I borrowed a sewing machine and tried my hand at some simple DIYs. That’s when it hit, sewing became my obsession and Green Guac was born. Starting with tote bags and cushion covers, I had gathered a little following. But when I was introduced into the lifestyle of living with less waste in 2019, everything changed.
I found that there was a need for household items that were not only easy to use, but easy to reuse. I figured, if I would wash these items when needed, I know others would too.
What started out as a dream of being “a farmers market lady”, working on my reusables part time and attending events casually. Turned into a full time endeavour when I up and quit my full time job after 10 years. Terrified and excited, I never thought a hobby was something I could one day be so proud of. I never in my dreams would think I would have regulars, followers and word of mouth.
But here I am, fulfilling another dream: exhibiting in the One Of A Kind Show.
I cried, I screamed and I began telling everyone that I had finally made it!
Honestly I couldn’t have made it here without my following, your support, my family AND my friends who have taken on little jobs to help make this a reality ❤️
I’m so excited to see all of you and meet so many more with a passion for the planet in just a couple weeks.
