I can’t means I won’t.
I won’t leads to lies, which leads to guilt, and the wheel goes round.
Why not just tell the truth to begin with?
I can’t truly means… I don’t want to, or I don’t know how, or I don’t understand or I am afraid.
The difference here is… owning it.
After that, anything is possible.

As you get older you start to embrace peace and calm.

Drama and excitement no longer hold much appeal and you realise how precious your time is.

There is no longer a need to rush anything as you have learned that, whatever is meant for you, will not pass you by.

Beauty is found in the slow breath of appreciation; knowing that Winter will be followed by Spring and the dark days in between will bring a well earned rest.

You understand that life is fluid and nothing remains the same and you have learnt to accept that there will be an equal amount of ups, during your time spent here, as there will be downs.

And as you grow weaker in energy you become stronger in mind. You are now a seasoned survivor.

You have acquired deep wisdom, which came at a cost . Inside, you hold many stories, some which are relayed proudly and others which will never be told.

You carry pieces of everyone you have ever loved and your heart is heavy with affection for each and every person who touched your soul.

Your mood is now buoyant and you're no longer running the race ...in fact you're happy to meander contentedly to the finish line.

Your seeds have been sewn and the fruits of your labour are ripe and ready to be shared and consumed.

Best of all you now realize what was important and what wasn't and you can unclutter all that is no longer needed .

You see life is actually very simple. What a shame we spend so many years of our lives making it so complicated.

You just gotta love yourself enough to know you deserve more, be brave enough to demand more and be disciplined enough to actually work for more.

My self improvement journey hasn't been smooth. I've had my ups and downs

The biggest sacrifice I made was, I gave up people pleasing in order to elevate my self worth

I learnt that, “You teach people how to treat you.”

I had to set boundaries and in doing so I cut off toxic people from my life. I gave up habits that were not contributing to my growth.

You can try this:

Write down a list of affirmations. Write a list of all the goals you want to achieve, the good things you deserve in life, the kind of treatment you will tolerate and the treatment you won't tolerate from your friends, family, work mates and relationships. Then put it into practice.

It's worth it.

It requires us to let go of past regrets and focus on the present moment. It urges us to see setbacks not as roadblocks but as stepping stones to growth. It encourages us to approach each day with a sense of purpose and determination, knowing that we have the power to shape our own destiny.
