I guess I did a profile on Mike I should do one on myself!

Kristelle here! I grew up on the farm we are on now, actually the pasture where we have our house on is one of my favorite spots on the farm. My background is all cattle, forages and consulting! Interesting thing about me is I have a condition that I get hives when I go out into the sun or too long. So yes I am a farmer and yes I have a business with "Solar" but my skin kinda hates the sun!

The pumpkins are slowly growing! Hopefully mother natures cooperates with us and we will be open mid September. Here is hoping for good pumpkin growing weather!

Most days I can't get out to the patch until the evening, Which is also nice since I get to experience the sun set in my quiet little piece of paradise !

We are normally opened starting the middle of September until around the first hard frost/thanksgiving ish. Did you know that pumpkins keep, you can come the first day we open and if you sun cure them they will for sure last until Halloween carving time!

We get our flour from our Friends ! They make amazing lightly milled flour using regenerative agriculture practices. We love using all their products for our family and find the flavor is the best and we stay fuller longer after the meal! We won't ever go back to store bought flour!

Red cattle with green and blue background makes my soul happy! This summer we have about 65 cows with calves a 100 heifers (young females that haven't had calves) and 100 steers (male calves that have been castrated).

We use the animals as a tool to benefit our land. Our animals are moved daily to a fresh new piece of grass. This means they really like us because we are the magic gate openers that give them their fresh food !

Pumpkin spot light!

We have Baby Jack Mix, Neon and the Early Giant.

The Baby Jack were a HUGE hit last year so we TRIPPLED the amount we planted! The Baby Jack's are small pumpkins with beautiful white, orange or black coloring. Neon have been a classic for all the years we have had the patch they are a medium size hybrid (pie and carving) pumpkin. Last we have the Early Giant, this is a new pumpkin for us this year. They are longer and blocky looking and are suppose to be around 25lbs each!

Packaging liver bites! These doggo treats are dehydrated grass fed beef liver. They are a crunchy healthy treat that dogs love!

Appreciation post for this guy (and he will hate I'm doing this!).

This is the other half of Solar Nutrition, Mike! Mike grew up in the city and has a background in the military. We started dating in the summer of 2020 and now we have moved back to the farm. This summer he left the military and has been helping on the farm where he has definitely found his calling. Right from day one he has a love and understanding for the animals that is amazing to see!

Our friends at do a great job of using their bison to improve their land and create AMAZING quality bison meat.

We normally try to carry a few different steaks, pepperoni sticks and ground bison. Other items we order directly through them when you put in an order on our store and within about 2 weeks you can have regeneratively raised bison meat to your door or come to our farm and pick it up.

This year in the pumpkin patch we are also adding wild flowers and pollinator species around the pumpkins. Hopefully this brings in even more pollinators and adds some more colour to the patch. Who knows if it goes really well then we could have U-pick flowers for you!

Pumpkin Patch is normally open around the middle of September!🎃
