Nikki spent the day at Tollgate Technological Skills Centre leading a couple therapeutic art workshops including ‘Behind the Mask I Wear’ and ‘Mindful Art Making’ with Grand Erie District School Board EA’s to help support the incredible work they do in classrooms 🎨 Here are a few snapshots of some of the lovely work they created 💕 Thanks so much for having us!

🍃 Mondays are for Mindful Moments 🌿
As a new week begins, sometimes our to-do list can be overwhelming. If you can, try to take a walk outside and take a moment to stop and *notice* the following;
- the way the ground feels beneath your feet
- new growth/buds appearing on the trees (spring is springing!)
- the smell of the air
- the various sounds you can hear
- the impact slowing down for a moment has on your mood/nervous system
💕✌️

🌿April is Stress Awareness Month 🌿
Stress is a normal part of life—but when it builds up, it can start affecting how we feel, think, and function. During Stress Awareness Month, take a moment to check in with yourself (and the people you care about). Recognizing stress early can help you respond before it becomes overwhelming.

Common signs of mental stress may include:
● Feeling more irritable, anxious, or emotionally “on edge”
● Trouble sleeping (or sleeping too much)
● Difficulty concentrating or racing thoughts
● Feeling overwhelmed, unmotivated, or burned out
● Headaches, muscle tension, stomach issues, or fatigue
● Withdrawing from friends, family, or activities you usually enjoy

Quick self-check:
Ask yourself: Have I been feeling like this most days? Is it starting to affect my work, relationships, or health?

Small steps that can help today:
● Take 5 minutes to breathe slowly and reset
● Get outside for a short walk
● Drink water and eat something nourishing
● Write down what’s stressing you—and what’s in your control
● Talk to someone you trust
● If it’s persistent or intense, consider reaching out to a mental health professional
You don’t have to “push through” alone. Stress is a signal—not a weakness.
If you’re comfortable, share one thing that helps you manage stress in the comments. It might help someone else too. 💛
