Brief but intense snowfall could affect road conditions and visibility.

What: Local snowfall amounts of 4 to 10 cm. Significantly reduced visibility in heavy snow and local blowing snow.

When: Overnight until this morning. Snowfall is expected to last into early this afternoon for areas near the St. Lawrence River.

Additional information: Given that the heavy snow will be brief, the primary hazard will be significantly reduced visibility as opposed to snowfall accumulations.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Travel may be difficult.

The morning commute may be impacted.

At 17, Joel from Grande Prairie, Alberta is living with mild cognitive disabilities, ITP and epilepsy, conditions that require constant management and regular hospital care.

Accessing treatment means travelling more than 450 kilometres to Edmonton, a journey that brings both financial strain and added stress, especially during winter months. In the past, his family often had to borrow money to make these trips possible.

That changed when they were connected to Hope Air through a social worker at the Stollery Children’s Hospital. By providing flights and accommodations, Hope Air made it easier for Joel to reach the care he needs without the burden of travel costs.

With that support, Joel can focus on managing his health and continuing forward with resilience.
