❄️ Nature Babies Meet-Up | Friday, November 28th

Our next gathering is happening this Friday at Mac Johnson Conservation Area (north end, Debruge Rd. entrance — we’ll meet at the picnic shelter).

🕙 10am - Wrap up around 11:30am (aim to be there a bit earlier to give yourself some buffer time - because baby life 😝)
🌿 Free community meet-up for mothers, caregivers and babies 0-12 months
☔️ Happens rain, snow or shine!

What to bring:
Weather-appropriate layers, snacks + water, baby carrier or stroller (Mac Johnson’s trails are decent but not super smooth), medication/EpiPen and anything for comfort — blanket, hand warmers, extra clothes, etc.

‼️ Please stay home if you or your baby are sick.

If you think you’ll join this Friday, drop a 🦊 or DM - it helps me get a sense of who’s coming!

🐮 A Look Back at Our Last Meet-Up:

We had our first field trip! We enjoyed meeting Stonyground Farm’s chickens, donkeys, ducks, an alpaca and a baby cow. It filled our hearts to watch the babies smile at the animals and had fun feeding them treats. After spending some time hanging out with the animals, we drank some yummy tea and chatted away while the babies napped in their carries or yapped along with us 😛

If you’ve been attending, I think it’s safe to say that these meet ups have overflowed our cups with joy! 🥂💞

❄️ ❄️ ❄️

Looking Ahead:

We only have one more meet-up left (December 12th) - I have been dreaming up what meet ups could look like once winter is here. Even if it’s snowy and chillier, we can still enjoy getting together under the trees and also adventuring on more field trips ... (Aquatarium, nature museum anybody!?, YMCA pool, maybe the Kemptville Campus Greenhouse would want to welcome us) and I’m sure there’s more fun to think of!

🫏 Nature Babies Meet-Up | Friday, November 14

This week we’re going on a little field trip! We’ll be visiting Stonyground Flower Farm in Prescott - home to chickens, ducks, two donkeys (Moose & Moe), a baby cow named Millie, and an alpaca named Diesel 🐮🦙

🕙 Arrive anytime after 9:45am, farm tour begins at 10:00am. We will wrap up around 11:30am.
📍 Prescott, ON. Please message me or send an email (bluejaybotanicals@gmail.com) to receive the address.

🌿 Community meet-up for mothers, caregivers, and babies (0–12 months)

Caitlin, who runs the farm, is welcoming us to meet her rescue animals and spend the morning learning about their care and what they get up to on her farm. She recommends baby wearing (if you’re able) so you can be hands-free and able to interact with the animals.

What to Bring: weather-appropriate clothing, extra clothes, snacks + water, medication/EpiPen, and anything for comfort - blanket, hand & foot warmers, etc.

🍂 A Look Back at Our Last Meet-Up:
Even with the Halloween rain, we had an amazing turnout! We walked along the Prescott waterfront, then cozied up at the Outpost Café where they opened their back room for us — babies played, parents connected, and we enjoyed warm drinks and great conversation.

It’s calling for rain and I’m feeling the pull for a low-key morning so we’re switching things up!

📍 Prescott Waterfront Trail (191 Water St. E) Find me where the Prescott Pop Ups are hosted (look for the colourful tiny cabins!)

🕚 Arrive anytime after 9:45am - we’ll start walking by 10:00am

☕️ After a short stroll, we’ll head to Outpost Café to cozy up with a hot drink while babies hang out

🌿 Free community meet-up for mothers, caregivers, and babies (0–12 months)

☔️ Rain or shine, we’ll make it work!

What to bring: Weather-appropriate clothing, extra clothes, snacks + water, baby carrier or stroller, medication/EpiPen. Comfort items: blanket, hand & foot warmers

🍂 A look back at our last meet-up:
We spent a gorgeous fall morning surrounded by golden leaves - wandered down the trail, set up a base spot, collected colourful leaf bouquets, and enjoyed each other’s company.

If you plan to join, drop a 🌱 or DM - it helps me get a sense of who to expect!

And if you know a local parent or caregiver who might love this, share this post with them! 💞

Interested in a Nature Babies meet-up?

Hey mamas & caregivers in Brockville and area,

I’ve been dreaming of a space where we can gather with our babies, IN NATURE 🌿🌸🍂 - a chance to play with our little ones, connect with each other, share the highs and lows, and simply have a reason to get outside together.

I’m thinking of starting a Nature Babies meet-up (0–12 months) every other Friday morning. It would be drop-in, free, and outdoors in local parks and trails. Fresh air and community are good for us, and for our lil babes too.

This would start as a pilot program to see how it goes.

Would you be interested?

my friends made me a flower crown at my baby shower and I felt like a “fairy soon-to-be-mama queen!” 🧚🏻🐝💐

it filled my heart up seeing them all gather round, each of their hands selecting flowers, weaving love, support, nourishment and magic into the crown. It was a day where I truly felt held by community and was given permission to bask in the centre, with all attention on me and this new life I’m bringing into the world.

People keep asking me how I’m feeling … and I don’t know how to answer. I realized it’s because I am feeling SO much. I am overwhelmed with emotions - especially as time grows closer to being full term. (13 days!)

Becoming a mother is life changing.
It’s a rite of passage.
Saying goodbye and leaving behind my old life.
Seeing my relationships transform.
Living in this changing body.
I’m feeling all of that.

This is a time of transition, for soon I’ll be reentering the world as a Mother. Just typing those words puts tears into my eyes.

My baby shower was more than just helpful gifts, yummy food, celebrating baby, fun games and a room filled with my loved ones.

It was an afternoon to honour, nurture and celebrate my pregnancy journey. An opportunity for me to feel held during this exciting yet delicate time.

I truly feel that this baby is a gift from someone special in the stars. Through all my grief, trauma and heartbreak - there’s light shining through the cracks, joy is seeping in and surrounding my hurt with cushion-y softness. I’m being given a soft place to land, soon snuggled up with a cute little baby in my arms.

Yesterday’s forest bathing walk by the St. Lawrence was something special. 🌊

We slowed down, tuned in, and let the river work its gentle magic - its soothing presence held us as we moved, created, listened, and noticed the details so often missed. A loon call echoed across the water, birds filled the air with song, and a few creative moments brought colour to the day (literally!).

Huge thanks to Anthophile Cafe & Patio for the cozy patio vibes, delicious drinks, and that cheese platter we’re still dreaming about.

It was such a beautiful morning of nature, connection, and reflection. Grateful to everyone who joined me.

Until next time 💚

🌊🌿 Looking for a reset? This Saturday, join me by the river for a guided forest bathing walk at St. Lawrence Park in Brockville.

We’ll move slowly, tune into the land, and let the sound of the water soften whatever you're carrying.

This isn’t a hike - it’s a quiet, intentional experience rooted in Blue Mind therapy and forest bathing practices. You’ll leave feeling grounded, clear, and more connected to yourself and the world around you.

We’ll end with a cozy drink from Anthophile Cafe & Patio and a light snack on the water’s edge.

Space is limited, and I'd love to have you there.
