Hello Crisis Workers of Ontario conference participants,

I wanted to tell you that Burlington has its annual Sound of Music (NOT a Julie Andrews The Hills Are Alive) Festival running during the evenings at our conference. Live music on the water!!

Crisis-in-cyberspace: The Dangers of online Gambling and Gaming with Dr Bruce Ballon.

An interactive discussion on online gambling and gaming, overt and covert, and its impact on mental health. Technology has allowed easier and quicker access and exposure to numerous elements that can create behavioural issues for the vulnerable. Explore the common issues and the practical approaches for tackling this growing problem in healthcare.

Dr. Ballon is an Academic Educator for the Centre for Faculty Development at the University of Toronto. Dr. Ballon has received numerous national and international awards and peer-reviewed grants for his work in medical simulation, addiction psychiatry, psychotherapy, education, the humanities, and his writing. His training includes a B.Sc. in Genetics, his M.D., a Psychiatry Specialist degree and two fellowships: Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry. He has also received an Education Scholars Program certification.
