A little tired from always being booked up while other Therapists are not. So I want to do 1 tip/day to make other Therapist be fully booked.
Please share if you think it will help others too.

1) NEVER CANCEL AN APPOINTMENT FROM YOUR END. ALWAYS RESCHEDULE THEM.

Since I C BC is owned by the government and Healthcare practitioners are not going to be self governed anymore. I wonder if there is a chance that our prices are going to be forced to decrease to match what they are approving right now.

Stop asking "What do I want to do for a living?" And replace it with "How do I want to live my life?" There is a difference

For ALL RMT'S especially for NEW GRADS

Also for Manual Therapist/ Health care providers.

If your patient makes you feel uncomfortable.

1) STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND HANDS OFF THE PATIENT. (do the "stop" sign with your hands.

2) with a straight face say "excuse me?" Or if you feel like it was just over the line. Say "I don't appreciate this conversation, can we focus on your treatment?"

3a) if the patient apologizes, and/or clarifies a misunderstanding that may have happened to make you feel uncomfortable. AND YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE CONTINUING TREATMENT. Say "thank you for the clarification" continue treatment and CHART THE INCIDENT

3b) if the patient is trying to make it sound like it's not a big deal, there is a high chance they will try and continue the uncomfortable topic, or initiate whatever they were hinting on.
1) Take a step back.
2) SAY " I am not comfortable continuing this treatment, your session is done. Please get yourself ready and I will be waiting outside. AND STEP OUTSIDE.
IF YOU ARE ALONE. GRAB YOUR PHONE WITH 911 ON THE SCREEN READY TO BE CALLED. If you have a receptionist, tell them that this person is being inappropriate, and you are telling them to leave. And HAVE THE PHONE READY.
When they are leaving. Let them.know that they are not welcome back to this clinic/practice.

Sometimes it's not easy as it is written. But please DON'T BE AFRAID TO STOP AND ASSESS YOUR SITUATION.
