Your hips hold more than just muscle.

So many of us carry tension deep in the pelvis without even realizing it.
Stress, overwhelm, long days sitting, emotional holding, the constant need to keep going.

The hips are one of the places the body braces for protection.

That tightness you feel is not a failure of flexibility.
It is often your nervous system asking for softness, safety, and release.

I wrote a new blog post all about why we hold tension in the hips, what it means, and how to gently let it go with a simple hip release practice you can try at home.

If you have been feeling stuck, tight, or heavy in this space, this one is for you.

Happy Valentine’s Day, love 💚

Today is a gentle reminder that love is not something we have to chase…
it’s something we return to within ourselves.

A Heart Chakra reset can be as simple as:
a slow breath,
a hand to the heart,
and the willingness to soften.

Let today be about compassion.
Let it be about healing.
Let it be about opening to love in all its forms, starting with you.

✨ Affirm with me:
💚 I am worthy of love just as I am.
💚 I open my heart to give and receive love.
💚 Love flows through me and all around me.
💚 I am a channel for peace, compassion, and healing.

Sending you warmth and heart-centered love today, always.
Love, Kat 🌿

A gentle reminder for today (and every day):
self-love isn’t something we arrive at once…
it’s something we practice, return to, and choose again and again.

Save these affirmations for the moments you need to come back home to yourself.
Repeat one in the morning, whisper one before bed, or carry one with you through your day.

You are worthy. Always. 🤍

Self-love isn’t a mood… it’s a practice. 🤍

It’s not something we suddenly feel perfectly one day.
It’s something we return to, in small ways, again and again.

A deep breath before the day begins.
Lighting a candle in the evening.
Speaking to yourself with a little more kindness.
Choosing rest when you need it.
Coming back to your body with care, not pressure.

These tiny rituals matter.
They add up.
They bring you home to yourself.

I wrote a new blog post sharing simple daily self-love practices that feel realistic, grounding, and supportive, especially in the middle of busy life.

Grief doesn’t move in a straight line.
Some days feel steady. Others feel heavy, tender, and close to the surface.

After losing my mother last year, my relationship with yoga shifted. As a student, I had to learn how to listen to my body in new ways. As a teacher, I learned how to hold space with more softness, patience, and compassion, for myself and for others.

Yoga hasn’t taken my grief away.
But it has given me a place to land inside it.
A way to breathe when emotions rise.
A reminder that rest is still practice.

I shared more about this journey, how grief shows up on the mat and how yoga continues to support me through the ups and downs, in a new blog post.

A Soft Reset: Guided Meditation

(5 minutes)

Find a comfortable position, either seated or lying down.
Allow your body to be supported. Let the ground hold you.

Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze.

Begin by noticing your breath.
No need to change it.
Simply feel the natural rhythm of breathing in and out.

Bring one hand to your lower belly and one hand to your heart.
Feel the warmth of your hands.
Feel the subtle movement beneath them.

With each inhale, imagine the breath traveling down into the body, grounding you.
With each exhale, allow any tension to soften and melt away.

Take a few slow breaths here.

Now gently bring your awareness to the heart space.
Not to force it open, but simply to notice it.
Notice any sensations, emotions, or quiet energy that lives here.

Imagine creating space around the heart.
Space to breathe.
Space to feel.
Space to be exactly as you are.

If it feels supportive, silently repeat the phrase:
I am safe to soften.
I am allowed to slow down.
I am coming home to myself.

Stay here for a few breaths, letting the words settle.

When you feel ready, begin to deepen the breath.
Gently wiggle the fingers and toes.
And when it feels right, slowly open your eyes.

Carry this softness with you.
Let this be your reset.

Sometimes we do not need a big change.
We just need a soft reset.

A moment to ground.
A breath to soften the chest.
A quiet return to the heart.

I just shared a new blog reflecting on this idea and offering three gentle ways to come home to yourself through grounding and subtle heart opening practices. This is an invitation to slow down, feel supported, and reconnect without forcing or fixing.

Lately I’ve been sitting with this question more often
What is this season teaching me?

Not rushing to answer it.
Not trying to fix or improve anything.
Just noticing what’s been revealed through slowing down, listening to my body, and honoring where I actually am.

This season has been a reminder that growth can be quiet. That rest is not a pause from life, but part of the practice. That boundaries, softness, and trust are just as important as effort.

I shared more reflections in a new blog post

Guided Meditation: Meeting Yourself With Soft Discipline

Find a comfortable position.
You may choose to sit or lie down, allowing the body to be supported beneath you.

If it feels comfortable, gently close your eyes.
Begin by noticing the places where your body is making contact with the floor or the mat.
Let yourself arrive exactly as you are.

Take a slow breath in through the nose.
And a soft, unforced breath out.

Place one hand on your heart.
Place the other hand on your belly.

Without trying to change anything, simply notice your breath moving beneath your hands.
The rise.
The fall.
The quiet rhythm that is already here.

There is nothing you need to fix.
Nothing you need to improve.

With each inhale, invite a sense of space.
With each exhale, allow a little more softness.

Bring your awareness inward and gently ask yourself, without expectation or judgment:

What do I have the capacity for today?

Notice what arises.
It may be a word.
A sensation.
A feeling.
Or it may be quiet.

Whatever your answer is, let it be enough.

Soft discipline is not about pushing.
It is about listening.
It is the practice of staying connected to yourself, even when your energy changes.

As you continue to breathe, silently repeat this phrase with each exhale:

I meet myself where I am.

Allow the shoulders to soften.
Allow the jaw to relax.
Let the breath move naturally.

If your mind wanders, gently guide it back to the feeling of your hands, your breath, your body being held.

For a few moments, rest here.
Doing nothing.
Fixing nothing.
Simply being present.

When you feel ready, take a slightly deeper breath in.
And a slow breath out.

Begin to bring gentle movement back into the body.
Wiggle the fingers and toes.
Roll the shoulders if that feels good.

When you are ready, softly open your eyes.

Carry this sense of softness with you.
Let it guide how you move, how you rest, and how you show up today.

This is enough for now.

Consistency does not have to be rigid to be real.

For so long, discipline has been taught as something we push through. A schedule to follow. A standard to meet. But what if discipline could feel supportive instead of controlling?

Soft discipline is about staying in relationship with yourself. Listening to your energy. Allowing practice to change with the season you are in rather than forcing it to look the same every day.

Some days that looks like movement.
Some days it looks like breath.
Some days it looks like rest without guilt.

I wrote a new blog exploring how to create a practice that actually supports you, not one that adds more pressure to your life.

Consistency doesn’t always look the way we think it should.

Some seasons invite movement and momentum.
Others ask for stillness, softness, and rest.

Yoga was never meant to be rigid. It was meant to meet us where we are, again and again, as life shifts and changes.

If your practice looks different right now, you are not behind.
You are listening.
You are honoring the season you’re in.

I wrote a new blog reflecting on what consistency really means and why showing up can look different in every chapter of life.

Read it on the blog.
