It all starts by making self care priority then scheduling activities around what brings joy - not just once but regularly so itโ€™s embedded into daily routine naturally .Engaging in self-care practices can aid in preserving your mental health, as well as improving your resilience.

The city of Calgary has issued an advisory for extremely cold weather his week. As we gear up for the first cold snap of the year 2024, itโ€™s important to prepare ourselves well. To help you prepare better, I would like to share some resources and tips to help you stay safe and warm.

Dress up with warm insulating layers closer to the body, covering with wind and waterproof layers on the outside.

Donโ€™t forget a toque, and carry an emergency roadside kit in your vehicle containing extra clothing, blankets, and emergency supplies.

Be aware of frostbite and its prevention

Make sure your cellular device is completely charged when you travel.

Keep a note of emergency help lines incase of any problems

This year I saw many colours. I embraced the different shades of me as a mother and as a woman. I saw the ugly face of humanity, I saw people suffering and suffering and the world staying silent.
I still chose to welcome 2024 with a grateful and hopeful heart. I hope we can change the face of humanity together. I hope I can continue advocating for and supporting womenโ€™s mental health including myself. I hope I as a mother can fulfill my responsibilities and stand up for my piece of heart.

Not only did we learn about skincare and beauty, but we were also reminded of the importance of self-care and self-compassion. I would like to extend my congratulations to Shamira and her team for organizing such a positive and empowering event.

I appreciate the initiative of a Christmas gift drive from Nepalese community. I feel so grateful to share this moment of joy with my friends and family- I was awarded the โ€œCommunity Volunteer Awardโ€ on September 30, 2023, from , with the Mayor of Calgary
Thank you SAIA organization and the entire selection committee for this prestigious award. I was one of the luckiest to be selected from the pool of 75 applicants.

I am grateful to Allah for guiding me through this journey, and to my parents for instilling in me the values of compassion, honesty, and kindness that I have upheld to this day.

To all the children starting their first day of school, congratulations! As a parent, here are some mindful tips to make the transition easier.
โœ…Firstly, plan to save energy and avoid chaos in the morning. Prepare everything the night before and even better to plan for a week.
โœ…Secondly, strengthen your bond with your children.
โœ…Let me tell you the power of nine mindful minutes with them each day. It can have the biggest impact on your relationship with your child.
โœจThe first three minutes right after they wake up !! filled with hugs, kisses, and positive talk. Three minutes arenโ€™t so hard !!
โœจThree minutes when they return from school to acknowledge and appreciate their hard work. Talk to them about anything but what happened in the school. Yes!! They are already exhausted from being good kids at school, questions and lectures will not be helpful.
โœจThe last three minutes before bed are the game changer!! Just be present with your child, listen, and comfort them. Donโ€™t forget to give them a good night kiss and hug.
These 9 minutes will change everything in your house. Letโ€™s make this school year is a happy and successful one!

The success of women's wellness events strengthens my belief and passion for supporting womenโ€™s mental health through advocacy and awareness.

It was a wonderful experience connecting to many beautiful and resilient women from our community. We shared thoughts, laughs, and enjoyed brainstorming games and food.
I was a successful event attendant by many ladies of our community from different backgrounds. I am grateful that .mian and Minister Rajan Sawhney also came to inspire us. Thank you to a wonderful friend for her support.
