Maintaining good mental health is crucial for your overall well-being and quality of life.

It all starts by making self care priority then scheduling activities around what brings joy - not just once but regularly so itโ€™s embedded into daily routine naturally .Engaging in self-care practices can aid in preserving your mental health, as well as improving your resilience.

Practicing self-care can effectively reduce stress, minimize the risk of illness, and boost your energy levels. Even small acts of self-care in your daily routine can have a substantial impact.

Studies have indicated that engaging in both physical activity and cognitive exercises is crucial for safeguarding ourselves against neurological damage, maintaining a healthy brain, and preserving our memory. To enhance our cognitive health and prevent memory loss in the long run, here are some ideas and activities that can keep our brains healthy.

Study published in neurology in 2020 https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32554763/ found that people who participate in multiple healthy behaviors significantly reduce their risk for Alzheimerโ€™s disease, the most common form of dementia

This initiative provides a platform for individuals to explore and exchange various perspectives on self and self-awareness. We invite women around us to join us and share your thoughts.

The city of Calgary has issued an advisory for extremely cold weather his week. As we gear up for the first cold snap of the year 2024, itโ€™s important to prepare ourselves well. To help you prepare better, I would like to share some resources and tips to help you stay safe and warm.

Dress up with warm insulating layers closer to the body, covering with wind and waterproof layers on the outside.

Donโ€™t forget a toque, and carry an emergency roadside kit in your vehicle containing extra clothing, blankets, and emergency supplies.

Be aware of frostbite and its prevention

Make sure your cellular device is completely charged when you travel.

Keep a note of emergency help lines incase of any problems

If someone is in serious distress or non-responsive, call 9-1-1.

This year I saw many colours. I embraced the different shades of me as a mother and as a woman. I saw the ugly face of humanity, I saw people suffering and suffering and the world staying silent.
I still chose to welcome 2024 with a grateful and hopeful heart. I hope we can change the face of humanity together. I hope I can continue advocating for and supporting womenโ€™s mental health including myself. I hope I as a mother can fulfill my responsibilities and stand up for my piece of heart.

Attending a makeup workshop led by a truly inspiring women from the Nepalese community and Sharmila Ranabhat was an unforgettable experience. Not only did we learn about skincare and beauty, but we were also reminded of the importance of self-care and self-compassion. I would like to extend my congratulations to Shamira and her team for organizing such a positive and empowering event.

I appreciate the initiative of a Christmas gift drive from Nepalese community. Iโ€™m happy that I could donate few new Christmas gifts from our platform to the gift drive that supports families, mothers, and children who cannot afford to buy new gifts this holiday season. Itโ€™s a time to come together and celebrate diversity in our city
