One year ago today, I packed up my life and followed a knowing I couldn’t logically explain.

I didn’t move to Calgary because it was comfortable.
I moved because my soul said, there’s more of you here.

And this year, asked everything of me.

It was expansion but not the shiny kind.
The kind that stretches your nervous system.
The kind that asks you to rebuild safety from the inside out.

It was refinement.
Of my work.
Of my voice.
Of the spaces I hold and the standards I carry.

It was settling into a new city while grieving what I left behind. Learning new rhythms. New people. New ground. Building a life instead of just imagining one.

There were moments of deep belonging.
And moments of loneliness.
Moments of certainty.
And moments where I wondered what the hell I was doing.

This year asked me to sit with discomfort instead of running from it.
To choose growth over familiarity.
To anchor into my partnership, my motherhood, my sobriety, my purpose, even when everything felt like it was shifting at once.

And what I see now is this:

I didn’t just move cities.
I moved timelines.

Calgary didn’t change me.
It revealed me.

More grounded.
More clear.
More embodied.
More honest about the life I’m building and the woman I’m becoming.

The work is deeper.
The containers are stronger.
The roots are finally in the soil.

One year in and I’m no longer arriving.

I’m here.

This year didn’t ask me to become more. It asked me to become honest.

Honest about what I carry, what I allow, what I tolerate, and what no longer belongs in the life I’m building. My standards changed. My energy became quieter. More intentional. More protective of what I give my time, my body, my attention, and my presence to.

I moved slower. I listened to my nervous system instead of pushing through. I chose depth over access, real community over surface connection, space over noise, and alignment over urgency. Some things shifted. Some dynamics changed. Some environments no longer fit. Not from force from growth.

This year refined me. It brought me back into my body, back into my truth, and back into the responsibility of living a life that actually matches who I am now.

I’m not closing this chapter with celebration or performance. I’m closing it with gratitude for the clarity, the quiet strength, and the deeper trust in myself that came from it.

The year is complete.
The standards remain.
And the life around me will continue to rise to meet them.
