Some days it’s not about “positive thinking.”
It’s about getting through the day without shutting down.
It’s about showing up, even if your body feels heavy.

Your mental health lives in your body — in your sleep, your gut, your breath, the tension you’ve learned to ignore.
It’s not all in your head.

At Redwood, we see how stress, grief, and anxiety show up in real ways — tight chests, tired hearts, and bodies that can’t seem to rest.
And we meet you there.
No pressure. No pretending. Just real care and a space to breathe again.

🧡 Today’s a good day to check in with yourself.

🍂 Gratitude isn’t just an emotion — it’s medicine. In TCM, the Earth element rules digestion, nourishment, and the way we process both food and life experiences. Thanksgiving is the perfect reminder that what we consume — physically and emotionally — shapes our health.

This season, notice:
✨ Who you share your table with.
✨ How your body feels after meals.
✨ The moments you can soften into presence.

Your stomach and spleen don’t just break down food — they transform it into energy, vitality, and clarity of mind. Gratitude grounds this process, making nourishment deeper and more sustainable.

This long weekend, eat with intention, breathe between bites, and remember that thankfulness is the spice that makes any meal digestible.

We take spooky season 👻 seriously around here!

We have a few remaining appointments this week. 📆

This is the time to grieve, to clear, to cut away what’s heavy so you can shine with clarity. Acupuncture supports this by:
✨ Opening the lungs, easing breath and immunity.
✨ Regulating digestion and release.
✨ Calming the nervous system so you can soften into change.

Autumn asks: what are you still holding onto? What’s ready to be exhaled?

10/06/2025

Stop normalizing pain.
Stop pretending you’re “fine.”
Stop brushing off the headaches, the stiff neck, the back that locks up every time you lift your kid or hit the gym.

You’re not broken — but you are running on empty. And your body is keeping the receipts.

Acupuncture isn't just for fluffy spa days. They’re where we unravel the pain your body’s been screaming about, reset what’s stuck, and give you back the freedom to move, breathe, and actually live in your body again.

You don’t need another band-aid. You need a reset.

Are you ready to stop living like pain is your baseline?

Redwoods only thrive because they’ve adapted to fire. Their roots run deep. Their bark resists the flames. And when the fire passes, the forest grows back stronger.

Your healing journey can be the same. Pain, grief, stress—they’re not the end. They’re part of the clearing, part of the becoming.

We’re here to walk with you through it. Not to make life neat and easy, but to help you grow back stronger, rooted, and alive.

🌙✨ Some healers are drawn to the work, others are called. Kerry Rainsford, Doctor of Acupuncture, knows what it means to walk both paths. Having journeyed through her own health challenges, she understands the courage it takes to seek care—and the transformation that’s possible when you do.

Her practice is a weaving of science and spirit, structure and soul. She focuses on mental health, digestive health, chronic conditions, pain, and hormonal balance—but her deeper work lies in helping people feel seen, safe, and supported.

Like autumn leaves carried by the wind, Kerry’s approach reminds us that release is part of healing. 🍂 Sometimes, letting go is where the magic begins.

🧡 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 🧡
On this day, we pause to acknowledge the painful truths of our country’s history and the legacy of residential schools. We honour the children, the survivors who carry these stories, and the families and communities forever changed.

Here on Treaty 7 Territory and the homeland of the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III, we recognize our responsibility to listen, learn, and walk with respect and humility. Healing is ongoing, and reconciliation asks us to move beyond words into action.

Like the redwood forest, true strength is found in our roots of connection. May we choose compassion, accountability, and remembrance—not just today, but every day.

Autumn in Traditional Chinese Medicine is the season of the Metal Element, linked to the lungs (breath, inspiration, grief) and the large intestine (release, letting go, clarity). It’s a time of refinement: we harvest what’s nourishing, and we let the rest fall away—just like the trees dropping their leaves. 🍁

When Metal is in balance, we feel clear, resilient, and connected to what truly matters. When it’s out of balance, we may notice lingering coughs or colds, tightness in the chest, skin issues, constipation, sadness, or feeling “stuck.”

✨ TCM Tips to Align with Fall & the Metal Element:

Breathe deeply: Take slow walks in crisp air, practice breathwork, or try gentle movement like qigong or yoga.

Warm, moist foods: Soups, congee, pears, cooked root veggies, and ginger tea support the lungs + digestion.

Let it go: Journaling, decluttering your home, or setting boundaries helps mirror the large intestine’s job of release.

Stay warm: Protect your chest, neck, and feet from wind/cold — the lungs are sensitive this time of year.

Grieve + honor: Give yourself permission to feel and move through loss. Healing starts in honesty.

This season asks us to shed what no longer serves and come back home to ourselves, clearer, lighter, and stronger.

TCM teaches us that Autumn is lung + large intestine season — the time for release. 🍂

It’s not all cozy sweaters and PSLs. It’s gritty work:
🔥 Facing what’s heavy.
🔥 Letting it go.
🔥 Making space for what’s real.

Think of it as seasonal house-cleaning for your body + mind. The lungs clear grief, the gut clears what’s stuck — and suddenly, you feel lighter.

Sometimes healing isn’t glamorous. But it is freedom.
