So, I brought the question of "how do I explain this whole shifting your mind to your body thing to those who ask?" up to my good friend during a conversation just now. She explained to me that what it comes down to is just simply setting the intention. Okay how do I explain how to set an intention and we both came to the realization that it's literally just "you tell the thing to do what you want it to do, and it does it"
For example, you want to walk. Your brain then has to send the signals down to your legs to walk. Your brain had to tell your legs what to do.
Now, let's say you want to shift your focus from your mind to a specific part of your body. Maybe you have pain there. Tell yourself "I am now shifting my focus from my head to *insert body part*" and automatically it'll go there.
Pro tip, body pain always has a story. Try asking it to tell the story of why it's there and open your mind to hearing what it has to say. You'll be surprised
This also works well if you come up with a brilliant idea but you're frozen because of depression, anxiety, ADHD, etc and can't move to do anything about it. Or you know you need to clean and just...can't. It's because you're stuck/living in your mind and you need to get out aka "escape" your mind, into your body, so you can do the dang thing ๐งก
Thank you all so much for reading this and being patient with me while I searched for this answer. And thank you to my wonderful friend for helping me understand this process a little more simply so I can go ahead and share this practice with more people, as it truly is such a rewarding practice. Not to mention freeing
One last thing, this in and of itself is a meditation for those of you who can't shut your minds up long enough to meditate ;)
Sending you all an abundance of love, light, peace, prosperity ๐งก๐๐ฅฐ๐ซถ๐
