Here are some tips to help you beat the blues:

⏰ Keeping a good routine. This helps our circadian rhythms keep your sleep, wake cycles in check, so you can sleep at night and not feel groggy in the morning.

🥦Eating nutrient dense foods. Getting adequate protein, and getting in your fibre rich veggies

🏃🏼‍♀️ Get movement in. Movement creates energy. Whatever movement feels right for your body!

🌲Get outside - fresh air is te best medicine for the blues. Getting some natural sunlight helps boost your mood immediately; even if its only for a few minutes

You can eat all the nutritious food you want, but if you don’t deal with what’s going on in your head, you’ll never heal. - I know you’ve seen this phrase many times, but ITS SO TRUE!🤷🏼‍♀️

Eating properly, and moving your body is only a small part of the puzzle. Stress can wreak havoc on our digestion, cause inflammation, ruin our sleep, and leave us feeling drained.😓
.
When I work with clients, we don’t just cover what foods and supplements work for them, we look at:
1. what is causing pain, inflammation, and weight gain. If stress is causing inflammation in your gut, you won’t be able to break down all that nutritious food
2. If you’re wired all the time, no matter how much you try, sleep becomes a huge issue
3. Craving foods, isn’t your fault. Lack of sleep is going to leave you craving All the sugar and caffeine -> leaving you not able to sleep even more 🙄
.
These cycles can be hard to break, and often leaving you asking, “is it the chicken or the egg?” AKA where do I start?!???
.

Chocolate Zucchini Muffins 🍫
.
I love having muffins around our house. They are easy quick snacks, breakfasts on the the go and bedtime snacks as well.
We aim for protein filled to make for a snack that keeps you full, and gives you energy.
.
2 cups Almond Flour
1/4 cup chocolate protein powder OR Cocoa Powder
1/4 tsp Sea Salt
1/4 tsp Baking Soda
1/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/4 cup Maple Syrup
3 Egg
1 Zucchini (medium, grated
.

Preheat your oven to 350ºF (177ºC) and line a muffin tin with muffin liners. Brush each liner with a small amount of coconut oil, to prevent sticking.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the almond flour, cocoa powder, sea salt, and baking soda. Mix well.

In a medium-size bowl, whisk together the olive oil, maple syrup, and eggs. Add the wet ingredients to the dry. Mix until combined then stir in the zucchini.

Spoon the muffin batter between cups, so it's evenly divided then bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre of a muffin comes out clean.

Let cool completely before eating, to prevent the muffins from sticking to the liners.
