I love sugar. We all do. We are genetically programmed to love sugar.

Here are 3 ways to have your sugar and keep your blood sugar in check:
1) Balance Treats with Protein & Fiber
Before diving into Halloween candy, eat a protein-rich snack like nuts, or pair your treat with high-fiber foods like apple slices. This helps slow down sugar absorption, keeping your blood sugar levels more stable.

2) Chew Your Treats Slowly
Savor your Halloween sweets by chewing slowly. Studies show that taking your time can reduce the glycemic response, as slower digestion helps control blood sugar spikes. Plus, you'll enjoy the treat more!

3) Stay Active Post-Treating
After enjoying some Halloween treats, go for a brisk walk or dance with the kids. Physical activity can help your body use up that sugar more efficiently, reducing blood sugar highs.
