From Article 19: Sick Leave

This is something a lot of people don’t know. I was not aware of this a few years ago when I was in a car accident and needed a few weeks off from work. My manager requested a sick note which I paid $50 out of my own pocket, not realizing I could have been reimbursed by the employer.

Hello Local 1 Members,


There will be a Friends of Medicare Town Hall at the Parkdale United Church on Saturday January 24 at 2:00pm focused on an Urgent Conversation: Public Health Care in Calgary. Friends of Medicare are also looking for health care workers to speak at the Town Hall after Dr Paul Parks. They are looking for personal stories about the impact of public health care or loss thereof. If you are interested, please email Faisel Kassam at fkassam@una.ca.
