Join us on March 20, 2025 for Redefining Mindfulness: A Panel Discussion on What It Really Means presented by Mary Wallis Ph.D., Christine Francoeur, and Dr. Phil Blustein.
Join us for an opportunity to reshape your understanding of mindfulness and engage in a deeper, more critical conversation about its meaning.
Mindfulness: a word we've all heard, but do we truly understand it? We often hear the definition given by Jon Kabat-Zinn — paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, without judgment. But is this all there is? What happens when we step beyond the traditional framework and question what mindfulness really is, what it isn't, and how it can evolve?
Join us for a thought-provoking panel discussion with Phil Blustein, Leslie Ellestad, Mary Wallis and Christine Francoeur - teachers from Wellness Through Mindfulness as they explore the practice of mindfulness from diverse perspectives. Together, we'll challenge the conventional wisdom surrounding this practice, expanding the conversation to include interpretations and understandings that go beyond the common definitions.
We will explore: (If each of you could provide a sub-topic related to the overall, we would like to segment the night into 4 and have each of us present, share with the panel and then open to the group)
The limitations of the "standard" definition of mindfulness
The expansion of mindfulness for personal transformation, social justice and cultural change.
Creating conditions for mindful living
Come with your questions, bring your curiosity, and hopefully leave with a more expansive view of mindfulness that you can carry into all areas of your life.
