Heading back to work? Here's some tips to help prevent separation anxiety in your pets.
As many people begin to return to work with the lessening of Alberta's COVID 19 restrictions, our pets will notice that we won't be home as much. This can cause some separation anxiety. In order to prepare your pets for less of a dramatic change, try some of these suggestions: *Try to give your pet some alone time everyday. Allowing them access to a quiet place for rest, sleep, and independence can help them adjust. *Leave your pet at home and leave the house a few times each day, even if for just a few minutes. *Organize and structure your pets' daily routine (feeding times, play time, walking and sleep). By already having a routine in pace, your pet will be able to adjust to your new routine smoother and with less stress.

One of our staff members cats came in to recheck his blood work today. He doesn’t seem to worried about being here, but he’s a good example of why we recommend doing routine annual blood checks. Louie came in for his annual wellness exam and bloodwork in September last year. On physical exam, he appeared very healthy, except for a few extra pounds! His blood work revealed some minor changes that we wouldn’t have been able to diagnose without the blood testing. Wellness checks are a valuable diagnostic tool for your veterinarian to help improve your pets overall health and diagnose conditions early, before they become more serious. #louie #wellness #routinebloodwork #preventativecarefirst
