#massage Interesting news about massage being allowed with a prescription even from a chiropractor or registered acupuncturist 👩🏼‍⚕️

UPDATE: As per the update provided by the Chief Medical Officer of Health, massage therapists are able to resume immediately providing services under the following guidelines:

1. All clients must have either a written prescription from a Medical Doctor or a written referral from a regulated health professional (
a. An existing written prescription is only valid if issued within the last 12 months.
b. An existing written referral is only valid if issued within the last 12 months.
c. A copy of the original written prescription or written referral is acceptable.
d. The written prescription or written referral must be provided prior to receiving treatment.
e. A copy of the written prescription or written referral must be kept in the client’s file.

2. All previous requirements for hygiene standards, PPE, masks, and other barriers issued by the individual associations will still apply until January 4, 2021. We will release the new “Infection Prevention Control Manual for Massage Therapists in Alberta” document before the end of 2020, which will come into effect January 4, 2021.

This exemption, which has been provided by the Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) may be terminated or modified by the CMOH in writing without notice and for any reason as determined by the CMOH.

One of the main requirements in the new “Infection Prevention Control Manual for Massage Therapists in Alberta” document will be the mandatory use of surgical/procedural masks (ASTM Level 1 or higher) by all massage therapists. We recommend that you start sourcing these immediately in preparation for this change. Until the document comes into effect on January 4, 2021 you may continue to practice under the existing requirements for hygiene standards, PPE, masks, and other barriers issued by the individual associations and under the Guidance to Wellness Services document supplied by the Alberta Government (

We remind all massage therapists that you have the option to return to work, and it remains the choice of the individual therapist on when they choose to return.

We wish you all a healthy Happy Holidays and a safe return to work.

“If I had to give Liver 3 a nickname it would be the “Cranky, Irritability, Anger Relieving Point!” This point is by far the best point for calming emotions related to anger and irritability. In Chinese Medicine the Liver channel is responsible for moving energy all directions. When energy gets “stuck” in the Liver channel it then EXPLODES and leads to symptoms such as anger, irritability, PMS, IBS, twitching eyes, and a throbbing headache.
I like to teach my patients how to give foot rubs to their family members at home. Who doesn’t love a foot rub, right? Well, a well-done-relaxing foot rub, with the inclusion of Liver 3, definitely leads to happiness for everyone involved. Spread the word! Liver 3 makes people happy!”

🤩 Face Map in Chinese Medicine! 🤩
There many renditions to face mapping in TCM! The most common ones are from the 2 classics “Spiritual Axis” and “Simple Questions”.
I am sharing the one that I have found very useful over the years in my practice. Like the ear, the tongue, the belly, and the limbs, the face is a microsystem which reflects what’s going on internally in the body.

- The Heart areas: wrinkles or redness in these are may indicate high blood pressure.
- The Liver area is located at Yin Tang for a good reason! Stress, irritability and anger will cause Yin Tang to b overloaded with years of frowning, causing wrinkles there.
- The Kidneys health reflect under the eyes. Dark circles may indicate lack of sleep for years depleting the adrenals and causing the TCM KD to age faster!
- The Spleen shows imbalances on the nose area. Pimples or black heads there, may indicate blood sugar issues or gut inflammation.
- The Lung area on the lower cheek can reflect Lung deficiency when dryness and wrinkles are prominent.

- The Small Intestine area: pimples on the forehead may indicate bacteria overgrowth, and absorption issues.
- The Gallbladder areas at the corner of the eyes often have wrinkle lines and maybe a cause of indecision.
- The Bladder area: pimples on the forehead may indicate lack of hydration.
- The Stomach area on the cheek often will show redness and indicate ST Heat.
- The Large Intestine at the corner of the mouth often maybe dry showing colon issues.
- The reproductive system area (which connects to the TCM Kidneys) is located on the chin. Pimples and cystic acne here shows a reproductive hormone imbalance.

Did you know that auriculotherapy does wonders for shoulder pain?
In fact, one of the most popular videos on our Youtube channel is a demonstration of ear acupuncture for shoulder pain using the #StimplusPro! (You can click the link in our bio if you'd like to watch it - and hey, why not subscribe to our channel while you're at it?)
This is a simple and effective protocol for shoulder pain. Scan the points and areas shown with a microcurrent point location and treatment tool, and treat whatever active points you find. Relief can be remarkable - and near immediate!
Acupuncture and ear acupuncture (auriculotherapy) are fantastic non-invasive techniques for fighting pain. Non-Addictive, safe, and truly effective, we really believe they could make a difference for you or your loved one. Tag someone in this post who could use a treatment, and comment 👍 if you agree! ✨

#December Happy December 1st! Last month of the year so let’s make it the best one. ❄️ ⛄️

The Spleen channel 🌿🙌🍌🥒🍇
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Spleen Meridian is related to the digestive system. It's responsible for turning the things we eat and drink into Qi (energy) and circulating that energy throughout the body. It's also related intimately to the lymphatic system, an important part of the immune system which moves fluids through the body and controls detoxification. A well-functioning spleen means an efficient metabolism and fluid metabolism, no uncomfortable bloating or indigestion, plenty of energy, well-absorbed nutrients, mental clarity, and emotional stability.
The emotion associated with the Spleen meridian is worry, or overthinking. When this meridian is out of balance, mental and emotional symptoms may include obsessive and intrusive worries that prevent you from fully enjoying life. You may also struggle with self-esteem, self-love and self-worth. Physical symptoms may include indigestion, bloating and gas, low energy, lethargy, sugar cravings, excess weight, abdominal fullness and discomfort and lack of motivation.
You can support and nourish your spleen by taking time out of your day to eat and enjoy your meals in peace. Sit down, chew slowly and thoroughly, and stop eating when you're satisfied, rather than full. Incorporating a daily routine and cultivating habits of self-care that makes you feel comfortable and secure is essential. Avoid excess sugar and focus on warm, cooked foods. Cut out ice cold water and cold food and drinks, and consider eliminating caffeine or reducing your intake, as caffeine is notorious for stressing out the spleen.
Finally, get acupuncture! Acupuncture is fantastic for resolving imbalances in the Spleen Meridian. You can book an appointment with an AcuGraph-User at the link in our bio, or

#restrictions The Alberta government made an announcement tonight with more restrictions. I am happy to say that I’m able to stay open during this time but by appointment only. So please call or go online to book your session. 📲 👩‍💻

Here are some POWERHOUSE ear acupuncture points for hormones!
The endocrine system isn't talked about nearly enough! It's one of the systems in your body that's directly responsible for regulating your mood, emotions, metabolism, energy levels, reproductive health, and overall wellbeing. And often, it's the most imbalanced system in the average modern body. Our endocrine systems are under constant attack by chemical endocrine disruptors, EMF radiation, chronic stress, adrenal fatigue, environmental toxicity, lack of sleep, poor diet... the list goes on and on.
If you're looking for a quick and easy way to support your endocrine system, adrenal glands and hormones, this auriculotherapy protocol from Auriculo 3D could be an excellent tool! We recommend treating with a Microcurrent device like the #StimplusPro for best results. Just make sure you're probably trained and licensed if you plan to treat someone outside your immediate family 😘
Looking for a simpler way to treat? A manual probe and ear seeds will do the trick (and they're VERY affordable, too!) Just make sure you've got Auriculo 3D to help you locate the points accurately! 😍
You can view all products mentioned at the link in our bio, or here:
PS... these products and MORE are on sale during our Black Friday sale! Don't miss out on a great deal!
