MSK: Musculoskeletal Syndrome of Midlife
A very real issue in midlifeâand something Iâve personally experiencedâwhich led me to pursue two Health & Fitness Menopause Specialist certifications.
According to Dr. Jenna, MSK is âa direct result of shifting hormones that impact your muscles, joints, and bones. And itâs why so many women in midlife suddenly find themselves battling pain, injury, and loss of mobility.â
If youâve been noticing symptoms like these, you might be dealing with MSK:
- Less fluidity and ease in your movements (even âeasyâ ones)
- Tight or achy muscles
- More DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness)
- Chronic joint pain (wrists/hands, feet, shoulders, hips, knees, etc.)
- Tendon/ligament strains (Achilles tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, etc.)
- Recurring injuries and slower healing times

If youâre in Canada and want referrals to trusted physicians or ND's trained in womenâs midlife hormones, DM me or comment below, and Iâll send you my referral list.
(I get no kickback for referrals, but Iâve personally vetted each one. Iâve either worked with them directly or theyâve come highly recommended.)
